CSA demands twenty thousand pounds, payable in seven days

June 13, 2011

I married my husband and had 4 children before we met. He had 2. We then had one between us.

We have been supporting 5 kids and had demands for 90pw in 2001. My husband was the only one working and after a meeting it was all sorted and the csa decided it was all ok and we were actually in credit GREAT. Until 10 years later they decide to send us a demand for 20,000 out of the blue (please forward a cheque within the next 7 days, yeh right).

Aanyway he was taken to court and an attachment of earnings slapped on him for £60pw, despite requesting a meeting they refused to attend. The judge said he had his hands tied and the attachment had to be made. This was 6 months ago and despite the csa getting birth dates of the children concern wrong, and us asking for a breakdown they have not replied.

Well why should they they are getting the money whether we owe it or not. These children are 24 and 21 yet they are still taking money off us saying the liability hasn’t ended. My husband has always worked and supported all of his children and mine but we feel cheated and now are struggling more than we have ever struggled to pay our way although we now have only 2 children at home.

My ex husband has never had the csa after him although he left me for another woman and walked away from my kids. Where is the justice?

Go to your M.P. asap! Ask for a full breakdown of your account! This should indicate when the arrears where from. Then make sure that you complain to the Independent case examiners office! regarding ght e time lapse!

Get everything in writing! Do not trust anything that they say or do!

I not sure, but if the arrears date back a long way, these incompetent idiots, have no right to collect it!

There are some good advisors on here who may be better placed to advise you!

I got stitched up with £6400 alleged arrears. The adjudicator was employed by the CSA, I am still fighting to stop a DEO and get my money back!

If I ever get enough money I am going after this lot in the supreme court!

    Good luck!

I have 4 children, I supported them, received letters from the csa stating that I owed no money. Then out of the blue a demand for £13500.00. They say its owed from 16 years ago you try and talk to them but get nowhere. In process of trying to deal with them but no one listens.
