CSA demands are keeping me and my partner apart

I am engaged to an amazing man. The problem is we cant even live together at the moment due to the high payments to the csa.

My fiancee has a ten year old daughter to a previous relationship. I agree, as he does that he should be supporting his daughter but its his ex which is the problem. When they split around 9 years ago, he was paying his ex money that he could afford and because she thought it wasnt enough, she contacted the csa.

Fair enough maybe, but my fiancee is still paying off £500 per month debt that his ex ran up in his name.

After he has paid his rent, debt she ran up and csa payments he is left with £400 per month to live off. For petrol to get to work, food, bills and general living expenses.

His ex even had him reassessed just before christmas last year and they rocketed his payments up to £800 per month. He had to move in with his parents as couldnt afford his rent.

He is on the old original system of the csa and they say he cannot be moved on tho the newer, fairer new system. His ex wont even let his daghter stay one night per week as her payments drop.

I am totally disgusted with the csa. We cant have a life together because of them.

  1. It stinks. The only thing you could do is have a baby with him, but be 'apart' then you make a claim to the CSA, and hey presto, his case with the ex will magically move to the new rules along with yours. Not that I am encouraging this, you understand 😉

  2. we had the same problem and my husband has said it would be better if we divorced then we won't suffer, NO Way, what ever it takes we will do it together. They are all for the pwc who lie and cheat the system its the poor nrp who gets all the bad press,we should all stick together and give the pwc a taste of what we go through.

  3. Totally agree Susan. My husband and I are only just reaping some rewards from pay packets after 15 years together. It's been a bloody long hard slog, and so many times I was tempted to quit. However we have the last laugh..15 years together, a strong marriage, two gorgeous kiddies. Husbands ex is on her second divorce, and another CSA claim..poor bugger!

  4. Good for u lorraine, we have been married 5 years and have a beautiful 3 year old, when i read these stories in a way it make it better cos although its an awful thing to happen we feel not so alone. These exe's try to ruin second relationships as much as they can but the likes of you and me stay strong. Good luck to you and your husband.

  5. Well, You can spend plenty of time together and by law they can only consider you living as a couplein civil partnership is if you are residing in the same address together for 4 or more nights a week, you can spend evenings together too even if the homeless partner departs late in the evening, keep a diary of times you share as evidence that you are not residing together for 4 or more nights a week, Keep seeingit as a romantic gesture for yourselves, imagine how much you'll miss each other! Use the law to beat the system! Just knowing how you stand legally is armour against the system. Know your legal obligations and protective rights.

  6. What stands more so to your favour is the strength in your relationship will not surrender to the evil infidel CSA and ex, the princess is allowed to rescue her prince while riding her white steed too! Many female rulers have led ther armies into battle, A woman can wield the sword of justice and stand affirmed that the laws written for the UK will protect you too, stand bk up to the system and wield the sword of justice!

  7. Yes Garry, very appropriate, I like that… sounded better than mine lol. ther's a definate poetic licence ther lol

  8. Yes Garry, very appropriate, I like that… sounded better than mine lol. ther's a definate poetic licence ther lol, after all, Asses av a better use the CSA even if only spittin out SH!T….lol

  9. yea. CSA is really a state machine but it IS a private company registered PLC business with a chief executives etc (ex head of Legal Services Comission) Committed anti-father background. If you are using them to extort money from the (so-called) NRP (Who is actually still there) then you are contributing to what is ostensibly fascism. Private Businesses and Shareholders making money from your family. Shame on you.

  10. CSA should assess both NRP & PWC's income and make a fair assessment for the child rather than causing poverty for the childs NRP. How does the child see that the NRP is willing in providing support to them when the NRP has contact and and is unable to provide financial support during contact and stop overs? this is not in the childs interest or welfare when causing poverty to the NRP. Many NRP's suffer financial poverty because the CSA prefer to create arrears to be collected after a lengthy assessment period and this is only on the compliant NRP's, what about the non compliant NRP's who continue to avoid making payments by any method available? The CSA aims to gain finance off the backs of working and compliant NRP's without any regards to the childs welfare. Who do you think pays the wage to the CSA's employees? All compliant NRP's, that's who!!!

  11. Exactly right, Allan!I have never understood the 'PWC has no assessable income' garb on the assessments. What a load of old tosh! and this applies to PWCs who actually WORK, but because they are on WTC they are considered as being on benefits. It just gets worse..When I split with my ex we worked out how much the kids needed to live on and split it down the middle, half & half. I consider that reasonable..we are both parents, and nowhere was it written that only the father was financially responsible for our children.Of course, if the CSA worked like that, then there would be quite a few children out there having around £1000 or so to live on each month. it's bizarre..

  12. what about the PWC's who have an incredible income while the NRP who is disabled and unemployed due to that disability and yet the CSA demand a payment of £5 per week from the disabled, unemployed NRP. luckily I have countered whilste encountering this situation by personal experience with CSA and demanded repayments deducted from my benefit which was going to the PWC's household income were the income is supported by 2 jobs, WFTC and child credits, I understand there is no mortgage on the property either. how was this financially supportive to my child when that £5 was required to support my child while residing with myself each weekend and throughout school holidays? It costs me £10 in travel expenses to pick him up and return him to PWC's home, food and clothing come from my ESA benefits without any financial support from PWC who are very very financially stable and able to go on expensive holidays 2-3 times per year.I am just about able to keep my car running and feed and clothe myself. My son is aware of how the CSA show no support in his welfare while he resides with me during contact residence. At least we both got fishing kits each from those repayments and enjoy the time we have together while the PWC enjoys her alcohol fuelled entertainments during our childs absence from her home.

  13. Sheesh…What about the glorious situation where the CSA include the second families CTC into the assessment? and private maintenance is considered 'family income' too! no wonder people have to be economic with the truth..we would have starved..

  14. The only economics that the CSA are concerned with are how much they profit from family break ups and the misery involved not just between the NRP and PWC but the children aswell. Profit is the main aim of the CSA, not the welfare of our children as they would attempt to have us believe.

  15. Oh I know, but unfortunately the general public who are lucky enough not to be involved in this 'organisation' (term used very loosely) believe the CSA does only good works. If I wasn't involved I would probably think the same. However, the media won't touch any stories on the CSA. People have tried, and failed, to get any TV or newspapers interested. MPs aren't interested either..neither is the Prime Minister, past & present.Hmmm..I wonder why? 😉

  16. Allan Morrell: Can I get the £5 a week back cuz I need it to go shopping at charity shops! The ESA say the amount I am 'awarded' is the 'minimum amount' the LAW says I NEED to live on. So is it lawfull to take £5 a week out of that to give to someone on £40,000 a yr?

  17. Michael,You are entitled to reclaim all £5 deductions from your benefits if you have shared care. the law states that shared care is when you haveyour child residing with you for 52 or more nights per year! I have shred care for at minimal 100 nights per year. however! it may depend how your PWC responds to the the shared care comment with CSA, Is your PWC compliant with stating you have your child staying with you for 52 or more nights per year? Have you informed CSA you have your child for 52 or more nights per year? have you been on benefits for over a year. If you have your child residing with you for that period and you are entitled to benefits for that period, you are entitled to reclaim all £5 deductions from your benefits, Ifyou are successfull in such reclamation of outstanding deductions. Make sure you provide your child with a wonderful rewarding no expenses barred quality time together!

  18. Another thing that perplexes me..how children are so much more expensive when they are sleeping 😉

  19. I guess that would be were the cost applies to eating your childs pillows due to despair brought on by CSA regime.

  20. Well honestly..in my experience all the contact costs were the result of spending time with the children during the day..or am I getting something wrong somewhere???

  21. Am wondering if I should send a small parcel to CSA with a sheet of paper saying in big letters…"BOOM!" from a disgruntled financially obsolete NRP! lol but might be arrested for terrorism offences!!

  22. however! CSA cannot obtain payments from you if you are in HMP custody! this is in no way advice for any disgruntled financially destitute NRP's.. this is just satirical humour!!

  23. I persoally would be happy to lay on top of a building flat roof 1 mile away in sight of a CSA office building with an AI L96 .50 cal.cross haired on the CSA office building with an itchy trigger finger.

  24. Lorraine, I dont tink it's you that's gettin owt wrong! tiz the CSA who has it all wrong! lol

  25. Unfortunately! we are restricted as to how the law stands but we can usethe law to stand and fight against this oppressive regime.

  26. I know exactly how you feel.

Like you my Fiancee is the most wonderful, amazing man and our situation is horrible.

We live together and have been for over 5 years. Guess what we have been hit with a bill for £32,000 and his ex wife is not stopping until she gets it. Once she heard we have a home together that was it, she is like a dog with a bone and not letting go.

I know its tough and there are times I feel like walking away but I am not prepared for any horrible agency or greedy woman who wants more money break my wonderful relationship up.

    Keep strong
