CSA defend ex when he pays practically nothing
I have been dealing with the csa for more than 10 years now. It took 2 years to get the first payment and after that if my ex was booking/going on holiday he would not send in any money.
It took another 2 years to get deductions of earnings order only to find that his employer would not comply and never got fined for this.
Finally payments came in buy again when it suited. 1 year ago my ex went self employed anp payments stopped again. He missed every deadline to send in his paperwork but no action was taken. Last week I got a letter saying £5 p/w was all he could afford and £5 p/w to clear the arrears.
He has not even sent this meagre amount of money in yet. Maybe thats because he spent it on a pair of Jimmy Choos for his wife and had a week in Morocco. And what are the csa doing about it?? When I phone some advisers talk to you as if you are in the wrong when all you are doing is your best for your child.
We should not have to fight for this and stronger legal action needs to be taken against non-compliance absent parents. Who will fight for us????

Joan,
If your case was opened prior to 03/03/03, it would be on old rules, unless it has migrated to the present new rules. If your still under old rules the calculation will include living expense etc for your ex.
You could if you wish, close an old rules case, wait at least 13 full weeks and make a new application to the agency for child support from your ex. The calculation would then be made under the present rules ie; 15% for 1 child, 20% for 2 & 25% for 3 or more, less any shared care etc.
It doesn’t appear the agency have been very pro active with your case, have you made any formal written complaints regarding the service you have received?
