CSA collecting payments but not giving them to me

November 25, 2011

I have a payment schedule dated July 2011 to which my ex is making payments. Unfortunately, the CSA have been collecting these payments but not passing them on to me. I have contacted them several times to find out why they are not being passed on but no-one seems to know what the problem is.

It has been escalated to a case worker, ignored, passed to another case worker, ignored and now I am told that a new schedule needs to be drawn up and I probably won’t receive any payments for another 12 weeks. No-one can give me a straight answer as to when I am going to receive all the payments that are being made to them every week. I demanded to speak to a manager yesterday and he just made be cross as he refused to even admit they had payments for me and “if” they did then I wouldn’t get it in a lump sum.

I pointed out that the money is not for them but for me and my son and they have no right whatsoever to drip-feed it to me as and when they see fit. I am getting nowhere and being given the run-around.

I have today fired off a formal letter of complaint but I’m not sure what good it will do.

I have been with the csa for a while they won’t drip feed payments if they find the payment they will pay it

  • joanne says:

If they are causing you this much hassle, can’t you and your ex come to a private agreement?, then you know you will get the payments. They do try and hang onto payments to gain interest, how do you think they can make so much profit?

I have been paying the csa for years but there not giving the mone the motber im really miffed that im paying out a small fortune to them and my daughter is not getting it how can this even be legal any way i have decoded not to take this lying down my plan now is to becpme an mp and fight and fight untill i have them closed dpwn then i will spit in there face Dy to

  • joanne says:

Dave that is interesting, and good luck with being an mp. Was your ex on benefits?? And if you are not amicable with your ex how does s/he know what the ex is really paying?, I hear many stories that nrps pays Xxxx amount and the pwc gets no way near what the csa are collecting, sounds suspicious to me, makes sense to how they made 25 million in profit for not being a non-profit organization, and hold money in high interest accounts.

I receive my csa monthly once was lost in system I created hell and the payment appeared lol I’m going through few problems now my ex wants the dow order removed! I’m hoping that they leave it as I know then problems will occur

  • joanne says:

I can see why he wants the deo removed, are you two amicable enough to come to your own arrangement?? Do you know if his deo is the same as your payments, plus they take an admin charge from him aswel. If he wants it removed the only way he can do it is by leaving his job, going on the sick or employers not paying it. Hope you can sort it out, as it seems odd he wants the deo dropped.

  • janet says:

He started a new job and a change of circumstances was requested he owes 984 pounds in arrears due to the assesment takin so long he want it removed as he is embarssed it being taken from wages however not once has he paid off his own back! I don’t mind it being removed as long as he pays on time each month he did say he clear arrears beforehand all in the hands of the csa now as its up to them

  • joanne says:

Unfortunately this is why arrears mount up with assessments taking too long…well if he had it offered before csa was involved, his fault for not taking it up. Hope he comes to his senses and realises that csa help no one as they constantly mess up! Take it mediation with him is a no no, so you can sit down and sort a plan out and stick to it??

  • janet says:

Nah he tried his best to shirk off his responsibilitys however I tried my best allowing contact until he decieded to walk away saying let my son find me when 18 we didn’t argue and I let him walk over me for the sake of contact with my son when he found his new wife he then didn’t want my son yes I contacted csa as he should provide! It took a while but got payments via dow order I’m grateful of payment as I can give my child best

  • joanne says:

You get more than me, my payments 0.00 and I like to think I still give my children the best. Good luck to you, csa worked for you but are still failing nrps and pwcs already stuck in their crappy system.

I am going stir crazy. The CSA has been collecting payments from my former husband but they have gone on to the ‘ wrong ‘ system. The now owe me 3 months payments which they keep requesting to be sent to me. Apparntly it was going to be 21 days from 7th November, now it is going to be 21 working days from 25th November. I have complained but they don’t listen, and I shouldn’t rely on it or treat it as a second income…… Don’t know what to do next.

  • janet says:

Keep on to them as I did and finally 3 months later he has paid the arrears as he didn’t want dow order good luck

  • Suzanne Williamson says:

Having received my formal letter of complaint the case worker finally decided to contact me on Monday and told me that my payments have been paid to the wrong person!!!!! It took them almost 4 months to work this out! Now I want to know what they are going to do about it but have to wait for the case worker to “hopefully” do some more work on my file this week and call me back. I’m giving him until tomorrow…

  • joanne says:

Then have them under the data protection act as its clearly been broken!

  • Suzanne Williamson says:

Still haven’t been able to speak to my case worker (apparently the only person in the entire organisation that can tell me anything – ever heard of computer records??? – god forbid he should fall under a bus tomorrow then where would I be?). Anyway, I called again today (they are simply incapable of returning any calls) and was told that yes, it was their fault but now I have to wait another 28 days for the release of funds to be authorised. Its a bloody disgrace that I should have to wait 28 hours let alone 28 days when it is a catalogue of errors on their part that have led to this. They clearly don’t give a damn. They should be investigated for malpractice. They are making so many lives a misery (on both sides from what I have read on here). Once this whole saga has been sorted I’m going to cease using them and have a private agreement with my ex. Strangely, this whole mess has made us talk more civilly to each other than we have done in years as we are equally annoyed with what has happened. It was supposed to make things easier going through the CSA – how wrong was I?
