CSA claim I owe arrears when I have paid

The CSA are trying to tell me that I owe them arrears when clearly they have been receiving the exact right money every month from a deductions of earning order. They will turn around and say it is my fault and not theirs and I will have to pay for it.

I am sick to death of them it is bad enough me having to pay the money for a child I am not allowed to see because, of the mother refusing to let me. (through no fault of my own just because she wants the full amount of CSA money.)

They have done this to me before just because they had given my employer the wrong deduction order with the wrong amounts on so I then had to pay for their mistake yet again I appeal and get no reply to them.

The CSA are a waste of time think it’s about time it is scrapped!!!!

  1. Total agreement it should be scrapped, they are not helping anyone at all really.

Have you requested an account breakdown? You would be able to check how much you should have paid and how much your employer paid to them. Has your employer always sent the payments on to the CSA? I noticed on my partner’s DEO that CSA state that although the DEO is in place for your employer to pay direct if they don’t it’s your responsibility and you can end up paying twice. Seems strange to me because you obviously cannot govern what your employer does.

  2. hi carol

i have had a breakdown of everything that i have paid to them, i dont see why i should have to pay for their mistake ????

it really should be scrapped or change the way they do things

  3. My partner has had exactly the same for nearly 7years now! They can not calculate and stick to the calculation! It took him going to see our local MP and him getting involved for it to be sorted out, however we have had a baby over a year ago now and they are yet to recalculate the payment! In the past his bunny boiler of an ex would ring them and asks for them to recalculate every so many months, and they would do and even with no change of circumstances from our end it was always a different calculation every time! Crazy! Very stressful and unnecessarily so
