CSA caused my partner to take an overdose

The CSA have put an attachment of earnings order on my partner…it does not leave us enough to live on and we cannot pay our bills ..we wont be celebrating Xmas …we both work FT. He has tried talking to them and has written to them outlining all his outgoings ..mortgage,utilities, council tax.

We havent eaten for 2 days as we have no money to buy any food. I got home early from work today to find he had taken an overdose of animal tranquilizers he is so desperate he feels if he was dead they will leave him alone and I wont be suffering as he sees it with the burden of not being able to afford to live..

They have been very rude and told him to get an extra job but that they will take more money then ..I rang them tonight and spoke to a manager called Phillip who was a decent person and is calling us me back on Weds . My partner sent them a letter last week with more information on his outgoings but while they have told him it is on the system as having been received they cannot now find it …he doesnt object to paying but we cannot afford to live now and to find him having taken an overdose as a result of all this was awful and I just dont know what to do.

  1. I hope that you recorded this conversation with them. If you have it should be sent to Cameron Clegg and Duncan Smiths office. The person responsible for this attrocious behaviour and their line manager should be prosecuted for demanding money with menace and for causing grievious bodily harm.

    I pray that you and your partner recover from this attrocious situation and that someone should be held responsible for thier actions in causing this distress.

  2. this post really distressed and i am so sorry for your situation is there arrears involved in your partners case? if so make sure that they are not taking more than 40% of his wage (i know 40% is a hell of alot to take but legally they are allowed to take this amount which i think is unbelievable as you need to survive also). You are not alone in this my family are also being totally hammered and i also fear my partners sanity too. You really need to see your mp and get him involved in your case also it might be worth getting in touch with Nacsa and asking them to go through your case and assessment for you to make sure that the csa is playing to the rules. I know its hard but try to stay strong as there is no easy fix with the csa everything takes so long to put right,hopefully something will be done to stop this evil from bleeding everybody dry

  3. Same here! Left me homeless several times. I may as well go back to prison again for childsupport rears. I'll have a bed, food and no bills. Also I won't have to explain to my kids that my ex is getting there holiday gift money

  4. This is shocking talking to the idiots yesterday asked why do they. They keep messing up and he said we as a company have never messed up laugh I almost pissed my self and he came out with a saying .never tango with a eskimo? Any have any ideas on this or was he just not liking eskimos

Right here is the low down i know how you feel about taking your life please dont do it its what the murdering scum want and you are worth much more alive to everyone else including me and everyone else on this site get down the job centre now apply for a crisis loan so you can eat tell them why you cant eat please just stick with it things will happen in 2011 but we need to stick together and be load rude and fucking angry by angry i meen how angry must you be at a company who wants you to die please stick with it everyone is with you

  6. Oh I am so sorry. I feel for you. We have been there. Lost 26,000 in saveings, bankrupt all. It is time the CSA was closed down. All they do is let vinditive mothers feather banks with the money. And fathers that can and do move on, only get wife wage and there own. The vinditive women that claim get hubbys wage her wage and another wage off the childrens dad. What about our children what do we get a 40% took off our wage. So our children have to go without. I am a women that has two children to a ex husband. I never claimed and never will. I have moved on in life. Go to the ICE Do it fast. They are good. Judge at court called them GOLD DIGGERS. All the best. You must write to the ICE. We don't want to hear another poor family man has killed himself because of his ex and the CSA. It this what the CSA are about killing fathers that move on. How many more will die because of them?

  7. They did all to us. I owe thousands, that we have had to borrow to live. ICE really helpped us. I even have a young lady with a brain tumour yet still they took 48% this month.

  8. keep going!! there is help ,, this is yet another diabolical story about these bastards abusing there so called rights . if there turns out to be errors in this mans assessment the person responsible should be held to account and be sacked and prosecuted and named

  9. The CSA have got to be stopped this, destroying lives and family's with their threats theft and lawless actions is horrendous. It has failed not only children but also NRP and PWC destoyed peoples lives and health.Its just another branch of domestic abuse.

  11. im up for that! they all need hunting down…. then they can feel what its like to be powerless! and when they ask us nicely to stop and have a heart we can reply "sorry your request has been recieved but we cant find it"….and then carry on beating them with a stick!

  13. Ok guys, Enough is Enough! It is now time to do to them what they have been doing to us! And for every death they've caused, and for every person put on ant-depressants, and for every person who's been bankrupted or almost so, it is now time to do it to them. Any person who works for or has worked for the bunch of child abusers and killers is a perfectly legitimate target. And we don't stop until they have done to themselves what they have done to us!!!

  16. Wonder if you could put a case in against the case wanker CRIMINAL JUSTICE (PUBLIC ORDER) ACT, 1994 SECTION 17, ie. extortion and demanding money with menaces?

  17. I heard this one to remember whenever the CSA were getting me dow…. Dont be wondering if there will be light at the end of the tunnell, just stomp down there and turn the damn thing on!!!!!!!!

  21. Dear Mary, I am very sad to read your posting, and at the
    moment all I can say to your hubby is that suicide is not the
    answer, he could stuff the CSA by giving up his job and they can
    then only claim a mximum of £5 per week as a deduction from any
    bebefit which he may be entitled to claim. If he is not entitled to
    benefits, they have to reduce his assessment to nil. You do not say
    whether your case is ‘Old Rules’ i.e.before March 2003 in which
    case living expenses are allowed or after March 03 in which case
    they are not. Whatever the situation, ypu are both better off
    without the loss of your hubby who you obviously love. Tell him to
    read this and I hope you both have a much happier New Year. Brucen

  22. brucen although your comment is correct regarding gving up work in order to gain a nil assessment sadly that might not be an option if they had a mortgage as the dole would not cover their payments

  23. And maybe giving up work is not an option at all……….he still needs to help provide for his children!!!!! £5 does’nt do it.
