CSA are not worth the money put into it

My experience with the CSA is simply too long to put on this website. What I can say though, is that I have never come across such unprofessional, unacceptable, patronising, unhelpful group of people in all my life. And I am only 33. Since Josh was 1, when I quite stupidly and innocently asked for their help, I have had nothing but lies, rudeness and the inability to give me a true and proper answer. They find it impossible to talk to you when you need help. They are unable to make phone calls when they promise to update you.

They try everything to get out of dong the work they are paid to do. Josh is now 13. They have now told me that can go no further with the case, as they are waiting for the Arrest Warrant to be executed by the court. They have no contact with the court to find out if this has been done. So they say. The CSA are supposed to have more powers than even the Tax Office. They have the powers to send bailiffs. They do but dont keep up to date with it to find out if anything has been done. Instead they leave it for 3 months and lie to you in the process.

If I could afford it, I would go through a solicitors myself, and have a private investigator follow him all the time. He hops jobs all the time. They do nothing positive to find out where he is working. They go through the Inland Revenue to find out. They say they can only do it every 3 months as thats when the IR update their records. Rubbish! the records are updated every month. There is so much more to this and I am now at the end of my tether. I dont know what to do now or where to turn. Unless I pay 150 pounds an hour.

Ha ha. To end, the CSA are not worth the money put into it. They need either disbanding or a MASSIVE shake up and being constantly kept an eye on by the government, until they acn prove they are working for the purpose they are supposed to be for. Do not touch them unless you want a battle for life!!!!

  1. They already had a shake up after they were told the old system was unfit for purpose. I do not think the system has changed at all and this new system is as corrupt as the 1st.

  2. They have the power to start court action but they can’t control what the courts do then or how long things take. Anything involving legal enforcement takes a long time and you won’t always get the result you want. The CSA are not an investigative agency as they say, they use the powers that they have but I think you’re assuming they have more power than they really do.

The Inland Revenue thing taking three months though is incorrect, youre right. They can submit case details to HMRC and results come in once a fortnight. But apart from using IR to find an employer or asking you and the NRP for info, what else do you expect them to do to track someone down? They’re not Interpol or something, they can’t actually do THAT much to find someone who doesn’t want to be found.

  3. Yes I do know as I ahve been constantly reminded over and over again, once the courts have control thats it. Its a waiting game. But wouldnt you say 13 years is a little bit long?? 13 years of being lied to, played around and being told we cant do this because we have to give consideration to the NRP?? Enough is enough!! Yes it is up to this shambles of a government to sort this out, but the CSA do have more powers than they say. Their own website states this. In some countries, NRP are forced by the courts to pay maintenence for thier children. If they stop paying they are immediately arrested and sent to prison. I believe in severe cases this is fair. My sons father has done this for so long. Its about time they stopped saying we cant do this and cant do that, and said right we can do this and WE ARE going to it.

Funnily enough alot of the information they have now is from me. From me taking hours out of my time going through records and electoral rolls. Following him around at all hours of night to find out where he lives and works. This is what the CSA where set up for. They are not even allowed to have access to a simple thing like the Electoral Register. What a load of rubbish. Anyone can have access to it.

In the end, it boils down to this. They have the powers. They dont use them. There are a hundred ways to do their job. They dont use them. Dont tell me they have to give the NRP 2 weeks to respond to a letter. By that time they have probably done a runner. Dont tell me we are sending bailiffs to his address and do nothing to oversee them. I have nothing good to say about them, as they have done nothing good.
