Cripling CSA payments

The CSA have decided that I should now pay £50 per week for one child. I live with my second wife and have 2 children and 2 step children. My wife receives £5 a week for my two step children through the CSA. I only earn £300. Financially we cannot manage and are now being taken to court over rent and council tax arrears. Why is it that one child costs £50 yet they have set aside 25% of my wages for my four children (surely it should be £200).

Am at my wits end as my wife has asked me to leave as she would be better off on her own on benefits.Should I leave my employment as surely financially I would be better off? My rent, council tax, school dinners, dentist, prescriptions, school bus, work travel amount to £200 per week and I wouldn’t have to worry about paying any of these if I was unemployed.
Thanks for any advice
Darren

  1. Hi there it looks that the csa have calculated you as a single person and not as a family i would recommend going onto there website and onto there calculator as it calculates child without care, children living with you and if child in question stays with you on any nights etc mind you they are away to change it again soon which looks worser than before are you able to have a private agreement with here or is that not a option.I can understand that you would be better of on benefits cause it wouldn’t pay to work i had to recently but i also gave up due to health problems, hope you can get something sorted out soon.CSA make lives hell and don’t worry your not the only one this agency needs scrapped and a fairer system in place.
