Constant complaints about the CSA but nothing happens
The CSA have completely failed both me and my daughter. The problems have been on going since 2008. I made several applications March 2008. When I contacted the CSA they said the never received these applications eventually November 2008 they had processed one. The CSA have been painfully slow the make calculations, chase documents and collect payment that it meant when payment was finally due my ex reduced his hours at a well known supermarket to part time to avoid making payment.
This then sent the entire process off again recalculations. When they stage of payment was actually due again peanuts where paid for a matter of months then he walked out of his job choosing not to work for 3.5years in order to avoid making any payments. During this time my ex should have paid £10 a fortnight out of his benefits yet he managed to wangle out of this. Each time I noticed this £10 was not paid I contacted the CSA to chase payments.
The CSA had never noticed until I told them. They are painfully slow to respond. The difficulty also lay in that each time I called them the system did not recognise my national insurance number as the CSA where running two separate systems. I’d be on the phone for a very long while each time before I even got to speak to anyone. When I eventually get through Id get passed around to the various branches up and down the country. In which the same problem would occur. I would make verbal complaints to the agency and nothing would happen.
One occasion I was told by the call centre operative “why do you want to complain”, “If we do this today you don’t need to complain”, “We keep your complaint in-house”. I’d make requests for the complaints booklet to be sent, never happened. My complaints are always suppressed and never treated seriously. Now the government are cracking down on healthy people being out of work he quickly got a job.
The painfully slow CSA took their time in chasing payment. I received a letter of calculations of what I should receive and arrears from 2008 onwards I finally through It been sorted oh no, that was it nothing. I complained online a received a courtesy call to say we will look into it that it again. I write to them, I call them.
Today I called a phone number in Stockport then given another number in Liverpool then get given a number in Bolton then get put through to the sensitive team they say we don’t deal with your case, we know nothing about it then get told she will get the case worker to call me? I asked which office is my case held she tells me the midlands.
I ask who is my case worker she tells me she don’t know. I ask can you send me a complaints booklet and she ignore my request. The CSA have seriously failed both me and my daughter. The cost of bringing up a child alone is difficult on a low income although I try my best to progress my career. Each time I speak with my daughter’s dad about the subject he tells me to speak to the CSA and laughs. The courts consider child support and child contact a separate issue and do not take into account none payment of child support. The CSA are completely incompetent.
An incompetent talking shop, I am deeply disappointed. The entire thing is getting me down. I want to bring legal proceedings against the CSA but without the finances to do so and legal aid do not cover this my hands are tied!

Nothing will happen until a csa worker gets hurt, even then not much will change, only when a senior politician gets attacked will they sit up and take notice, thats how messed up this country has become.
You need to complain in writing, send recorded delivery, go to your MP and get them involved. Make a note of all calls, who you spoke to, date, etc. and chase constantly. If you join the facebook groups Child Support Agencies Failings and other groups too there is advice and support, and people very knowledgeable who might be able to help, Good Luck.
