Can they take any of the child benefit we get to give to my partner’s other child?
Hi I live with my boyfriend and we have a child together, my boyfriend isn’t working and cant claim jobseekers as im living with him so he gets nothing I work but on maternity leave and get child tax credits working tax credits and child benefit witch are in my boyfriends name as well.
I want to know if they can take any of this from us to pay for his other child. Although he doesn’t work I give my boyfriend £40 every 2 weeks to collect her and take her home as we live Dumbarton and she lives Edinburgh. Her mother always sends her thro with just the clothes she has on so I also have to buy clothes shoes ect for her when we have her I take her out places and we get her most holidays

no just the child tax and working tax paid for your child to pay someonelses who already gets their own benfit as its calassed as “INCOME”
They will put your partner on nil assessment because your the higher earner within the home, if your partner isn’t w
Working they can’t take what he doesn’t earn, good luck, join our Facebook group child support agency ripoffs, we can give you more guidance there
You will be nil assessed because you are the higher earner in your home, they cannot take anything into account because your ex doesn’t work, you will get child tax credit and other benefits because of your income alone, and under CS2 rules they cannot use your income for assessment
I think that you may find the CTC will be classed as income of the NRP. CTC is not the same as WTC, WTC will not in this case be the income of the NRP as the PWC is the higher earner.
