July 24, 2013

Hi I live with my boyfriend and we have a child together, my boyfriend isn’t working and cant claim jobseekers as im living with him so he gets nothing I work but on maternity leave and get child tax credits working tax credits and child benefit witch are in my boyfriends name as well.

I want to know if they can take any of this from us to pay for his other child. Although he doesn’t work I give my boyfriend £40 every 2 weeks to collect her and take her home as we live Dumbarton and she lives Edinburgh. Her mother always sends her thro with just the clothes she has on so I also have to buy clothes shoes ect for her when we have her I take her out places and we get her most holidays

I think that you may find the CTC will be classed as income of the NRP. CTC is not the same as WTC, WTC will not in this case be the income of the NRP as the PWC is the higher earner.
