Can the CSA contact my employer?

Hi

Twice the CSA have approached my employer. Once was a deo for a small arrear to clear of £120 shortly before my ex cancelled payments from csa

Recently she has started to go through csa again and I completed the forms, returned them and advised i will follow up with my wage slips. Despite sending these on less that week later, they again approach my employer before making any contact with me. No phone call, additonal letter.

Im trying to keep everything separate from my employment and dont wish them to contact them. Is there any way I can stop this. Are they allowed to just contact your employer direct without consolting me first??

Thanks

  1. I found this information on a web site dealing with hell that the CSA put people through, as we were put through this two weeks ago. The CSA contact employers for your details and state that it is the law that they have to consent, otherwise they will get fined a £1000, this is not the law, it is onlt statutory legislation if you consent to it. Two leading solicitors have now confirmed that no employer can be fined by the CSA or the courts. By your employer giving out your details to the CSA or other corporations with out your consent it is possible that you could prosecute your employer for breaking the data protection act. How ever this argument does not go down well with the CSA but if you have the time and money to dig into this deeper then good luck. Hope this helps
