Can I give all future payments in one lump sum?

July 15, 2013

My wife and i are very close to parting company, we have 3 children, 18, 16, 10.

i have worked out i would owe around £18000 in csa for the 10 year old till he is 18, as the other 2 want to stay with me. i have 20 – 22k sat in my house at the moment, i am debatind if i can give my wife the house as all future maintenance payments?

i would sign the house over to her.

As Jessica and Jim say, the CSA do not take any payments made as as child maintenance, even agreements made in a court of law ar only valid for a year!! The idiots who work for the CSA might tell you something different to get money for the PWC (they are bias for the PWC) but will still demand child maintenance for your kids.

The age of child maintenance payments changed on 10/12/12 but the CSA didn’t have the decency to inform NRPs and then raised DEO’s when NRP’s stopped paying on the appropriate date after the child turned 19…. it’s rediculous…

I’d suggest you try to get whatever money you can from the house as the CSA will bleed you dry… 🙁

    good luck…
