Can I get money out of my ex husband?
I have a 6 year old daughter. I left my husband shortly after my daughters second birthday because he was abusive. The father has never paid maintenance.
He has access to my daughter every second weekend and we share holidays. At the moment he is not working but is demanding more access.
I’m not sure how this process works. Can I get anything out of him? I was afraid to do this as I did not want to upset him. I work full time and live with my partner. I have no access to benefits as I am on a partner visa. I am not sure what my ex husbands visa status is. He used to be a student and I was his dependent. I have lived in the UK for nearly 10 years and my daughter was born here.
Is it worth persuing this?

If he isnt working you cant claim any maintenance from him. you are better off waiting till you know he is in full time employment. all that will happen right now is the csa will contact him by post for information / payslips, he will say he isnt working, and the calculation will be £0.
I cant believe im reading your sob story..another mother that wants to use the kids as a cash cow..lol…lets weigh this up and put it in perspective.
he has no work so very little money and yet he sees his child every other wk end..how do you think he pays for that ???
he wants more access…how do you think he is going to pay for that ???
you should be thankful that despite him not working he still tries his best to see his kid AND share the holiday cost with you.
You on the other hand..WORK and you have a partner whom im guessing WORKS ? You have money to help you and your child along with your partners income.

get the csa sharks onto him and I hope he digs his heels in and decides not to bother getting a job and in turn recent you and possibly see less of his kid because of what you done ? cause he for sure will be screwed and have no money whatsoever once the csa get their claws into his pay….he be better off on the dole..then you get a fiver a week…lol greedy is what you are
