Can I claim CSA from my child’s mother?
My ex-wife left the marital home in January 2011. It was agreed that we would have joint residency of our daughter, who was then 15. Almost immediately due to her starting a new relationship she broke our agreements and wanted her less and less, culminating in the current state where she only stays with her Mother every other weekend and on Tuesday evening when she picks her up at 22:15 at the end of her shift. As an early shift worker I’m in bed when she leaves to go to her mothers but I have her all that evening.
Finances have become tighter and tighter for everyone and she has become more reluctant to pay her way, as our daughter resides with me for 10 days out of 14 over a fortnight, do I have grounds to claim anything from her and if so could this be backdated?
Our daughter is now 16 and attending collage.
Regards

Dave,
If you are in receipt of Child Benefit for your daughter, you are in a position to approach the CSA and make a claim against the non resident parent for child maintenance.
