Can CSA take into account all of mine and my new partners Tax Credits (Working and Child)?
I work 25 hours a week at minimum wage. My partner works 36 hours a week at just over minimum wage. We have a small amount of Working Tax Credit and and receive Child Tax credit for my partners 2 children.
At the back of the booklet that comes with the notification it says that If my partners income is greater than my own then WTC and CTC would not be considered. Is this true as I have had my notification come back to say that WTC and CTC has been used to calculate my Net Income.
Please advise as I have to pay £31 per week and only pick up £150 average per week.

If your partner is the higher earner then the WTC will be awarded to them – the CSA will not take the WTC into account, if however you fail to provide them with a copy of the WTC award then they will assume that the WTC is awarded for you and this will be taken into account as income.
CTC is classed as income to the household and will always be taken into account when calculating your child maintenance liability – on the flip side you will be given an allowance for the children living in your household even if they are not your children.
