Better off on benefits than with the CSA
CSA have just informed me that I’m in arrears on child maintenance and are taking £82 a WEEK out of my salary. I am willing to pay child support but find these deduction orders are extremely unreasonable and much too high as my NET take home is between £180 – £200. After paying morgage and utility bills this leaves me with no money for food or travel to work! I have tried phoning them but they are arrogant, unhelpful and unconcerned with putting me in financial hardship.
I have only had this new job 6 months and they have based my average wage INCLUDING xmas bonuses I recieved, but I’m now back to standard wages but again they do not care.
I feel I have no alternative but to get myself fired from my job and seek jobseeekers allowance, at least then I could afford to eat. Desperate and very depressed and down so any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks.

Write to them telling them you want a review as your wages are different. They will need your last 5 weekly pay slips or if you are payed monthly then it may be last 2 payslips.
When they did my review they included overtime so i then did 5 weeks with no overtime and sent them slips in and the payments were then reduced.
Hope this helps.
I know how you feel, I also don’t mind paying my way but the amount they take and there disgraceful attitude stinks,I went to my mp he deals with my case now,he got mine down from £800 a month to £300 still a lot but a lot better, all correspondence goes through him as well just keep on at your Mp
I got same problem but mine is that I got my 14 yr daughter living with me and my ex wife has our son living with her and her partner. I have to pay for my son but she doest have to pay anything for our daughter so Im thinkin of going on the dole your better off.
