At what age do I stop paying?

I have been paying the CSA 30% of my wage for the last 14 years on the old CSA system. Plus some arrears for 2 years which they made up. I have trying to find out when do you stop paying ? My son is 16 in September and i am trying to find out if it is 16, 18 or 19 that you stop paying.

If there is any help out there then i would be very very grateful.

  1. It’s 20 all the time the child is in further education. If they go into Higher it stops. Mine is due to end in January but then I thought that last year and they decided to change the rules 3 weeks before I could stop paying. Knowing these aholes they’ll probably decide in dec that’s it’s now 21!

  2. Its 20 if the ‘child’ is in full-time (this can be 3 days a week) education at A level or equivialent eg BTEC L3

  3. So there you have David…

‘It’s 19 if they continue in education’
‘It’s 20 now! New law came in December 2012.’
‘Till there education finishes which could be 21’

    Hope that’s clear for you.
