Aren’t they too old for payments now?

I am claiming jsa and have been paying maintenance through my jsa for my children from my previous marriage.

My children are now 21 and 18 years of age but payments are still being taken from my claim.

Please could you advise me if this is correct and if not what should i do?

  1. If the younger one is in full time non advanced education then you will still have to pay.
As it is being deducted from your benefit the amount will not change if the older one is taken out.
The maximum age is 20 as long as the QC is in full time non advanced education.

  2. When a QC enters university this counted as advanced higher education and liability for child maintenance ceases.
The case should normally close the first Monday in September.
