After 14 years, this child might be mine after all – what can I do?

Hi all i’m here to ask 1 question !!

Let’s say a DNA test was done via the CSA 14 years a go and the results came back 5 months after the test in the way of 1 letter saying the case had stopped due to said named not been the parent ( no DNA profile from company was received )!!

Fast forward 14 years said child gets in contact and the child’s mother is adamant that I’m the child’s dad and that she never did a DNA test or had contact with the CSA.
New DNA test = I have missed out on 14 years of their life

What do I do ?

  1. Speak with your local MP and a solicitor because there is more to this than just the money… A child has grown up without knowing its father because of a mistake made by the CSA…

Do you still have the correspondence sent by CSA, also, it seems a bit weird that the child’s mother has waited 14 years to bring this up…. Get as much information as you can from CSA, ask for a copy of your data files (will cost you £10).

I would also recommend you contact someone at NACSA as they have helped thousands of people deal with CSA …. http://www.nacsa.co.uk/

Good luck and please keep us posted…
