18 months and nothing from the CSA

November 7, 2011

I am a single mum of a three yr old. The dad has only had contact a few times in the first year and decided, without telling me that he no longer wants any contact. While I was pregnant we broke up and we came to a civil agreement that he would pay £400 per month. As he was already paying £1000 to his ex wife for another child, he decided later on down the line that he would go to the CSA.

My payments actually went up to £558 per month. Then, all of a sudden he produces 3 payslips showing he is on minimum wage. He is a company director of a company earning at least 10-20k per month take home. I took the case to the tribunal service 13 months ago. I still am waiting for a date. Harlow was supposed to be the place, but now I hear it is Enfield. I have written to my MP at least 5 times and David Cameron two weeks ago to hear nothing back.

I am now very concerned that when I do have the case heard I won’t be given the money as I first thought. He owes me approx 8k now. My Dad is a solicitor and will pay for a barrister; do you think I need one? I am in such a state about this. I can’t believe that the more I read, the more I find people are not getting the money even if they won a case. Please help!!

that old chestnut, paying fake payslips off the internet, my ex did that too. You need to see your MP, make an appt. Your father could act for you to sue the CSA if he cant then he could find someone to do that. As if you are not getting the money and your case should be in enforcement. You need that appeal also. Join the facebook groups child support agencies failings etc for advice and support, as unfortunately you are right about people not getting money even when won cases, as that happened to me. Good luck,
