Stress from CSA payments has caused me to have a heart attack
From years of stress paying £153 from a wage of £220 for a child the ex has refused to let me see, I had a heart attack at 47. Now I’m on sick pay of £85 per week and CSA take £35 per week – that leaves me with £50 per week to pay gas water rent electric etc. From this I pay £10 per week for tablets for my heart.
I told the CSA that the dole is £72 per week but they said they will not change and will still take the £35 per week from me, this is more stress and my GP even said more stress and you could get one more heart attack that you my not recover from. I have contacted 15 lawyers but not one replied. I am sure its a violation of my basic human rights.

from a wgae of £220 the maximum the CSA can legally take is £88 – the being 40% of your net income. As you are now on sick pay and your income is less than £100 the current assessment should be £5 per week.
Did you inform your CSA office when you went on the sick, and if so has a re-assessment been done?
if you are on benefit, your weekly maintenance contribution should be around £5, you need to ask for a review. Best wishes.
Id make a formal complaint to them detailing everything your unhappy with keep record they are gold when making a complaint. Depends what benefit you are on if it contribution based esa or incapacity they can take it into account as it is taxable benefit bit if its not then it should be flat rate of £5 unless there are arrears on the case but £35 from what you state you get is way excessive.
If you are not up to it yourself, get a trustworthy friend to make an appointment to see your M.P. on your behalf. Have them inform your M.P,. of your problems, and let them have copies of all letters that has brought about your ill-health.
Ask the M.P to refer your case to the Parliamentary Ombudsmans office regarding maladministration. The more that do this the better!
If as you say your health problems have been caused by the CSA, you may consider seeking legal advice.
Hope you are better soon!
now, now ladies and gentleman, don’t you realise that it’s the authors fault (Paul Gilbert).. why on earth couldn’t he get out of his sick bed, to contact the CSA to inform them he was in hospital fighting for his life…
I mean, the man has got his priorities all wrong… doesn’t he realised that that the CSA rules come first and his life comes second….. !?!
As usual Alice puts his/her 2p work in but the REALITY of the situation is that Paul COULDN’T contact the CSA because he was in hospital due to having a heart attack!!! and the CSA don’t make variations for people who are genuinely ill and UNABLE to contact them on the day the fell ill (asking for proof from the hospital or Dr would be too much effort for the CSA!)….
I hope you are well now Paul and have found someone who can help you deal with the idiots at the CSA..
