Stephanie Merritt almost driven to suiced by CSA
Stephanie Merritt is a successful author and career woman, yet she was contemplating suicide after the CSA refused to help her out.
It began with a letter from the Child Support Agency. Money was a problem; I had been back at work for less than six months and already it was quite clear that things could not continue as they were for much longer.
Stephanie goes on to explain…
This letter, which had taken the best part of a year to process, made it clear that no such money would be forthcoming and explained why. If I wanted to challenge their decision, it said, I must submit an appeal to a tribunal. The appeals process, it went on, usually took upwards of six months.
She tells of how she was offered a promotion in work to cover for her boss, but felt she was unable to fulfill the role due to the pressure she was under as a result of the child support agency’s actions.
