Non payment from ex husband

November 1, 2011

I left my husband in 2005 because of domestic violence, myself and 3 children went to a womens refuge. We lost our home but my ex husband remained in the property until it was eventually sold, he ran up bills which were in my name and i am still to this day refusing to pay them. He made himself bankrupt so that he didnt have to pay maintenance. I contacted the csa and made them aware that he continued to run a business but had put all assets etc into another persons name. I brought his son up alone from the age of two and half to 8yrs old with no payments coming from his father and the csa were totally uninterested in anything or any information i had for them. I never had any payments at all from my sons father and now my son has gone to live with his father and i am on benefits.

I have £5 a week automatically taken from my benefits for my sons maintenance but what about the payments i should have had over the years. Its absolutely disgraceful that the csa have let people get away with non payment and there are those who have paid far too much and got themselves into debt also because of the csa. They need to get a grip of the whole process. My other children suffered over the years due to my sons father not paying his way towards the upbringing of his son!!!!

I know he owns property, he owns several vehicles and has had a regular income since the day we left so why have the csa not acted and ensured i had maintenace from him???
