My ex turned up after being missing for nine years

May 24, 2013

My ex left me nine years ago after going fishing and simply didn’t come back. He was found by the police and had met someone else.

I didn’t hear anything until the CSA got involved and he then turned up asking for a private agreement, naturally I said no.

CSA told me I was entitled to xx amount of money and I never saw a penny. The ex then gave up his job and I was told I would get £5 a week and still I got nothing. Mentally I was unable to fight this as I only had strength for the children, that was 2007.

Last year I received a letter telling me I was owed thousands but they could not locate him, I told them I believed he had left the country and they told me it would go to enforcement so if he came back they could stop him.

A few weeks ago he turned up at my Sons place of work after 9 years of being missing. The hurt and devastation it caused my family has been massive.

I have been assed from pillar to post with the CSA as we have been seriously let down by them. They promised to call but didn’t, they left me on the phone for over an hour and come 8pm I still had not spoke to management, they cut me off while trying to transfer my call to another department.

They have written to apologise for all their mistakes but are still getting it wrong. The say my case should have been closed in 2007 as the ex had moved away but I have a letter from 2008 saying I am still entitled to £5 a week.

I am still trying to raise a complaint but the CSA is mentally exhausting and I will try not to give up this time.

I work hard and have don well to heal my children from what my ex did and the fact he can just walk back after 9 years causing such emotional stress is beyond me and there is no accountability for what he has done.

Child Support Agency? Where on earth is that support? They work with decent willing parents and let the dregs of Society get away with it. I feel very let down and am disgusted by their service.
