PLEASE DISBAND THE CSA. CSAHELL PLEASE START AN EPETITION 100,000 SIGNATURES REQUIRED…

After being harassed and victimised by the CSA for 9 years I am at the end of my tether and the need for change is nigh.

In the beginning was a private agreement between myself and the Ex. All was well and regular access and maintenance was the order of the day.

After a year of separation I moved on with my life and met somebody else. How very dare I !!! My Ex was straight onto the phone to the CSA.. I was accused of not paying any money towards the upkeep of my children which I strongly refuted. Luckily I had been astute as to set up a standing order when we separated but it up to me to prove by way of submitting bank statements for the past year. When the CSA found out my ex had been lying they should have washed their hands of my case and refused to get involved as we had a private agreement. Not so. My wife has the right to use the agency if she wishes.. My rights you ask?? Unfortunately where the CSA is involved, I do not have any. I was added to their statistics and the rest is history. My ex wifes’ maintenance payments were REDUCED but she still did not have the brains to continue with a private agreement where she was being paid more money for our children. It seems the well being of our children came second place to the new weapon of harassment she had found namely the ‘CSA’ The usual followed. I had to spend thousands of pounds in court to obtain two contact orders which were constantly flouted and all my ex had to do was flutter her eyelids and claim the children were ill or the children didn’t want to see me as the day had a ‘Y’ in it. etc etc. Not the picture the CAFCASS officer had seen but…hey my ex gained an extra £4.00 a week as the children no longer had overnight contact with their father. Once again putting the best interests of the children first.. Not. Of course this is all encouraged by the CSA. A court order is disregarded by the CSA fuelling the hunger for more skulduggery by the PWC. A wage rise you say?? Of course we will investigate this.. Every six months?? Of course, no problem. The CSA will re-assess your case every month if the PWC contacts them stating you have had a change in circumstances. This is the PWC’s right. Believe me I know.. I had even been overpaying for over two years and neither my ex or the CSA bothered to inform me.. I managed to recoup approximately half of this before I again received falsified statements stating I was now in arrears. I am know at the stage where I have had three statements/account breakdowns issued in the last month, all with different amounts of arrears.

If you ever receive a statement/breakdown examine this carefully as I discovered the amount due included a payment for a date after the statement was prepared (A future payment due) and the amount I had paid was not up to date and did not include my last weekly payment, meaning I was over a hundred pounds in arrears. These people are not accountants and are certainly not qualified to prepare complex statements. There is a complaints procedure. Does it work? No.. You can complain.. You get nowhere. Independent Case Examiner(ICE) Much the same here as this is the CSA’s own case examiner and is neither sympathetic or impartial.. Parliamentary Ombudsman?? Yet to try but will not hold my breath. My local MP was as much use as a chocolate fireguard and refused to even try to arrange a meeting with a government minister to explain their ludicrous legislation. Wrote to both David Cameron and Iain Duncan Smith but both letters were just passed onto the CSA without being read by either minister. After years of complaining I am still wading through treacle getting nowhere fast. Is everyone aware of the way new cases (and soon ‘old ‘ cases) will be calculated?? This is based on your GROSS WAGE. The money you earn before the taxman has his share.. The money you earn before your national insurance and private pension is taken. They are to calculate the amount of maintenance to be paid on money you don’t even see.. You couldn’t make this up could you.. If my memory serves me right this method was used when the agency was founded way back. Did this not result in dozens of suicides as NRPs could not pay the ridiculous amounts demanded..

After years of being my rock and a constant shoulder to cry upon my wife (and myself) are near breaking point. I would urge disillusioned parents, both PWC & NRP to help and fight the incompetent buffoons who run this corrupt government agency and sign an epetition calling for the CSA to be disbanded. I, like the majority of responsible parents believe I should contribute TOWARDS my childrens’ upkeep. This has to be a reasonable amount as like many others I now have a second family and must also look after these childrens well being. I would set up a private agreement tomorrow but my ex would not agree as she would no longer be able to harass me by using the CSA. Where are my rights?? I should have the right not to use the CSA. I have proved I do not need to be stigmatised by using these self righteous, incompetent, dishonest oxygen thieves.

Hi Kev, My partner and I were in a very similar situation to yours a couple of years ago – he and his ex had a private arrangement for 3 years (slightly more than the CSA required) but as soon as we moved in together, the ex went straight to the CSA because she thought she would get more money as I was his ‘additional income’… needless to say, she and the CSA made our lives a living nightmare for over 2 years and we were at breaking point too. No matter how often we proved that his ex was lying, the CSA still re-assessed us and made up false arrears!!! His ex was not spending the money on the kids, she was spending it on herself and sending the kids round demanding more money!!

    Before things got really bad, I bought into my partners house (he was struggling to pay the mortgage, I owned a flat) and kept my flat to rent out privately but then we found out that the CSA could enforce the sale of property in the NRP’s name (jointly or sole ownership) so we got legal advice, sold both properties and bought a house in my name only. All assets are in my name, my partner left his job to become a student and now we (including the kids) are a lot happier… I am especially happy because his greedy ex gets only £5 a week now lol lol lol

    Now that HE has nothing, the CSA have left us alone…. the ex has tried to cause trouble and lie but so far we have just ignored it all because no matter what arrears the CSA make up or how often they re-assess… he has nothing to give them. We will always have the security of a lovely home that no-one can take away from us and I have a good income that allows us to have a good lifestyle… but the most important part in all of this is that his two kids get more from their Dad now than they did when he was paying his ex ££££ money every month!!!

    I don’t have an answer for you but I would definitely suggest you speak with your local MP (ours helped reduced false arrears the CSA claimed my partner had)… anything is worth a try because the CSA drive people to distruction or worse…. drive people to killing themselves!!! good luck!

  2. same thing is sorting off happening to me I started a job at the end off October my starting wage was £210pw and when I rang the CSA up and told them I was working (I know big mistake) I started getting abuse and threats saying my CSA payments will be £200pw and I got into a fight with the CSA on the fone. just shorty after my mom was rushed into hospital and got the bed news she only had months to live. so I contacted my ex told her wots going on with the csa and my mom to which we was agreed for her to bring my son 2 me and go to a private agreement. had a fone call off the csa stating my case was closed down. I lost my job on the 14th feb due to my mom was on her last legs and in march she called the csa and told them I was working since October and haven’t had a penny and now the CSA are trying to sting me with hundreds or possibly thousand’s what I did, I send the payments slips which proves I paid her with a threatening letter stating if they come after me .for any arrears to which ive already paid then I will get the police involved for fraud. I have rang the police to which they will do something if you got the proof. at the moment my case is being investigated (which im hoping they say no we want the arrears because I want to see 1 government law verses another government law lol)

I couldn’t have put it better myself Kev Colley.The same has happened to us.We had a private arrangement but it wasnt acknowledged by the CSA because the pwc had contacted the CSA, originally, years before(don’t they think she would have contacted them before 8 years if she hadn’t been receiving anything from us? !!)! Won a tribunal to have the children who live with us taken off the so called’ arrears’ but still they believe everything the pwc says.They hassle the nrp’s who are paying and the nrp’s who wont pay at all get of scot free!! Havent got any confidence in ICE -from what we’ve heard it’s run by CSA staff.

    This agency mis-treats everyone and we all need to stand together. I would like to start an organisation to collectively take on the csa and the misery that it brings to all parents. I believe too many individual resources are lost in individual battles and to much time is spent on negative emotions between PWCs and NRPs (I hate these terms) which can only impact on those that we care bout OUR children.     would love to join but custody not an issue can i still? I will gladly start an e-petition if people want all i ask is that people spread my e-mail around and anyone who wants to sign has to give one reason pertinent to their case of mis-treatment by this agency.
