I am against a system that breeds and encourages greed to the detriment of our families
I have been coming on to this website for a couple of years now and read lots and lots of problems with the CSA (all of which I agree with), some Moral issues (about parentage) and some legal issues (surrounding financial obligations and the powers of the CSA). I have initiated a few threads myself when I needed help dealing with the idiots at the CSA and although life isn’t black and white, one fact that none of us can deny is that the DECISION to give birth to the child lies solely with the mother!!!
The CSA relies on the PWC (usually the mother) making a claim and have used money as an incentive to do so, and as a result thousands and THOUSANDS of NRP’s have been victimised, harassed bullied and some have even taken their own life because of it… greed is truly a deadly sin!!
However, there are situations where men DO NOT WANT KIDS and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, what is wrong is that they are having to pay for the rest of their lives for having a one night stand!!! When two consenting adults have sex (drunk or sober) they are KNOWINGLY taking the chance of becoming a parent, however, at the point where the female finds herself pregnant and realises that the man she slept with does not want a child SHE should make a decision to give birth to the child on the basis that:
1) SHE is the only parent and as such should financially support the child ALONE and be made to sign a disclaimer or some other legally binding document, or
2) Abort the child and wait for someone who wants to have a child.
I am a female and I’m absolutely shocked that there are women out there who trap men so that they can have a child and/or avoid working.
NOT all children are born under these circumstances and most are born through choice with two consenting parents who want to be actively involved in the childs life (even after separation/divorce) but again, its down to the mother (usually) to decide how SHE wants to play it… be fair or be greedy (with the help of the CSA)…. MEN have absolutely no choice in any of it and going through the legal system has no guarantees, the mother can ignore the law, lie and do what she likes without retribution and it’s all wrong…. And why does she get away with it… because she has the support of the CSA.
I’d like to just point out that I am not against decent PWCs AT ALL, but I am against a system that breeds and encourages greed to the detriment of our families….
Something needs to change!!! I know I will be shot down in flames by many people but this is a forum for voicing our opinions, and this is mine!!!

Sally well said hun, the system is there for greed, men are seen as walking banks, doesnt matter that the saod child doesnt have a father, as long as the woman calls the shots and has the money, if the mans name doesnt appear on the birth cert and he didt want that said child the woman should bring it up herself, its no wonder so many men give up work, the csa is all about greed, whats more the pwc has the upper hand by having all the say, the place is a disgrace and should be closed down

Sally very thought provoking and very well put across, all boils down to responsibility at the end of the day, what are peoples beliefs and morals, if they are good all will be well, however we know these are not consistant in society. However it is choices made by people who know their own morals and beliefs and they should be respected. The CSA is as we know morally wrong in it’s methods yet the principle is possibly correct. If a mother chooses to have a child then her choice should be respected, her belief is that the male should contribute is also fair in some people beliefs, the government for one, However beliefs can change over time, I believed in Santa for a while as all my peers told me it was so, A bit like the tooth fairy and the easter bunny. My belief changed with evidence despite the information previously provided by people I respected and looked up to. This was a change in my beliefs and shows that despite the information my family etc had passed to me, it was false information albeit with best intentions, The reality was it was a well intended lie, The government will have intended well with the CSA but experience has taught us that not all are the same and the morals of the few can influence the whole. Hence the horrible mess the CSA have inflicted on many families, They intend well though but it just is not so is it? Sally I agree with your comments but it is now up to us all to get the government to accept that the well intended lie to parents and children was just that, the CSA is not fit for purpose and parents should be able to make their own choices based on their experience, Decent people will still contribute and those who choose not to will miss out. It is our children not the governments and our choice.
Well said, women use kids to get at the NRP”s and also use the system for money it’s about time something get done about this system as its so unfair. Why should the father pay for his wife when she commits adultery and she takes his kid/s away from him. The women should get nothing and the kid/s should get a trust fund

Sally, great post. Agree with everything you say. Lisa, Stuart and Jim, your comments are spot on.
The CSA was set up 20 years, probably with the right intentions, to go after absent fathers who weren’t paying any maintenance towards their child(ren). However some absent fathers have proved too clever for them, so to meet their targets/bonuses they have continually targeted the NRP’s who are already paying and in many cases, walked away and given the ex wife the house, car and many of the assets. The ex wife then gets the CSA involved and the CSA totally destroys the NRP, with their bullying, threatening and unreasonable demands. The NRP may be in a new relationship with children and his new relationship will struggle to survive and his children put in poverty with the pressure put on him by the CSA.
Is the past and present government really happy for this to continue. With the CSA media blackout, perhaps the answer is yes. Blair said he was going to make absent fathers pay and Cameron said absent fathers are worse than drink drivers. Have either of the any idea how the CSA operates ?
The CSA will nearly always believe the PWC. There’s no reasoning with them. NRP’s don’t get fair trials, CSA make up arrears and allow the figure to hit £3,000 and then have the power to send the baliffs to the NRP’s home.
Enough is enough. Things have got to change.

What these women are doing by getting themselves pregnant is nothing more than entrapment, its wrong and there must be a law change to stop this happening, it wont stop the CSA, but it might reduce the amount of women/teenagers getting themselves pregnant for the free 19 year ride at a hard working mans expense

Our whole society needs to change….. No-one should expect to go through life being ‘kept’ by other people, but that’s exactly what our government are breeding….
It will never be black and white but the first step should be accepting parentage… A female should legally give the man a choice within the first 4 weeks of pregnancy, if he signs the concent form, he is agreeing to financially support that child, if he doesn’t then the female has the choice of aborting or having sole financial responsibility for that child.
If the relationship breaks down and they divorce then both parents income and expenses should be considered with an ASSUMED 50/50 access as part of the child maintenance payment…..
Finally, Blair and Cameron are right when they say absent father should pay but neither the government or the CSA are doing that!! Brett is spot on when he says neither of them have a clue how the CSA is run but they don’t seem to care as long as the statistics look good and targets are met…. It’s terrible 🙁

Yes,I’m completely fed up of the bias against nrp’s. I have been gradually adding to the cases on here with our own experiences of the disgraceful treatment of nrp’s. All we want is FAIR SYSTEM ..who has any faith in this agency after reading all the maladministration & incompetence we have encountered ? I’m determined there must be changes …MP’s please take note!
I agree completely with this post.
My husband & I and our two children are the paying the price 17 years on from a fleeting relationship. The girl already had a wardrobe full of baby clothes before she even met him or got pregnant! He never wanted children & she lied about contraception & being able to have kids.
She now still uses the CSA as a weapon and has controlled our lives & that of our two children leaving us in financial hardship & with a very poor outlook for the future. My husband lost his job & his home & was left penniless. Now she is after our family home & intent on causing as much misery as she can just because she can.
These people should be held to account; named & shamed.
I had not a penny from my ex husband who decided to start up his own business in Southern Ireland.
She and her parents have actually admitted that she doesn’t need the money. This is pure evil & malice & the CSA hand the weapon and let her use it without licence or conscience.
This has to stop. We only get one life and we have already lost 17 years of ours that we will never get back.

Couldn’t agree more.
I think you should have to register a pregnancy, the same way you register a birth. If at that point the father doesn;’t want to have a child and would have opted for abortion, but the mother wants it, then the father is marked as such and therefore the mother can take the choice to continue as a single parents but would have no rights to CSA payments.
Any father signing it would be aware the children would have access to it when older so would need to think carefully.
It’s not fair that only women can choose to terminate a pregnancy but then they get paid for having it.
