Harrassed by the Child Support Agency

When my son was two years old (he is now 20) my wife and I split up

I will not go into it but she was responsible. I fought hard to keep my son with me, but after spending app £3000, I lost. I had to sell the house,couldn’t afford mortgage, and had to take out a loan to get a terraced house by auction.

I was allowed access to my son every other weekend, which throughout the years worked quite well. I can’t convey the agony that went on over the years, then the CSA stepped in. I am an older father and for the last ten years of my working life they were taking app £169 per month out of my salary.

On retirement at 65 they decided i wasnt paying enough and i finished up paying by DDebit £174 per month until he was 18. He is now 20 and they are still hounding me. They say moneys are owed to the secretary of state. I had a guy ring me recently from Edinburgh, wouldn’t give his name, only said he was Chris, and you would have thought i was answering a murder charge.
