Employer kept money from DEO, now CSA wants me to pay AGAIN

My daughter is 21 this year and I’m still battling with the CSA re alleged arrears in excess of £10,000. I’ve been querying the amounts that used to deduct from my wages since day one, one week I’d get a letter saying my weekly maintenance was £65, the next it had reducted to £5.50!.

In addition to this the statements they used to send never tied up with my wageslips which I have supplied to them on numerous occasions. (I apparently have a DEO and the implications have only just come to light)

Again after querying the missing monies, it has since come to light that the guy I used to work for had been taking the money from my wage but not sending it to the CSA.

Simple case of prosecuting him and getting him to pay the money to CSA right. Wrong it turns out even though the DEO is there the onus is on me to ring the CSA to make sure they’ve got the money thats been deducted. I’ve now been told that I need to pay them this money or it goes to court and its then a civil matter to claim it from my previous employer (hell yes I handed my notice in when I found out what he’d done) Thing is this guy has a habit of closing companies and setting up new ones the next day when he cant afford to pay his debts, what chance have I got.

Can anyone please provide any help or assistance.
