CSA ignores fact my daughter not in school nor does she live with PWC

August 10, 2012

I have been paying child maintenance for 15 yrs, my daughter has now turned 18 so I spoke with a solicitor and was advised that I was entitled to enquire about my daughters education and livign arrangements as I beleived that she was not living at home nor was she in full time education. The solicitor sent the letter requesting proof and evidence for the living arrangements and education, the letter also sted that I was not shirking any finanacial responsibility but merely required information to satisfy me that she was infact in full time education. Within 7 days of the letter being sent I received a letter back from the CSA demanding payment – significatnly more than was originally agreed with my ex partner.

The CSA have not investigated whether my daughter is in education, nor have they taken into account that I ma now married with other children. Surely there is something wrong with the system when all I ask for is proof that my daughter is in full time eduction and in return I receive a threatening letter from the CSA, please note that I have never shirked the financial responsibility as a father.

The system is disgusting and poorly operated, no facts or figures are sought form the fathers side before the threatening letters requesting payment and salary arrestment.

Appauling system.
