CSA demanding thousands from me

since 1994 I went to court 28 times to get access to my daughter, which for periods I did; until Mum decided something was wrong and stopped contact. So I would return to court and repeat the pattern. Then when she was 12 I ran out of money and did not persue contact further. Everyone assured me she would contact me when she was free of her vicious violent mother.

At Xmas 2010 aged 17.5 she contacted me and asked if she could come and stay with me, she was desperate. Too many arguments with her Mum, so I picked her up and there was Mum throwing her belongings onto the front lawn.

All this time I never paid any maintenance except a tiny amount at the outset. Now Mum knows where she and I live, I have received a demand from CSA for £70,000! I was never an absent father, just a victim of a violent unreasonable partner (not married). I tried many times to be a good dad and in the end it paid off, I have a beautiful daughter (now 18) about to go to Uni. I took JPR at the outset and got court orders for contact galore, but the court never enforced their own orders. I was very happy being a dad, in fact I since had 2 more beautiful kids…….. so what do I do about the 70,000 demand! If it was 5000 I would be worried, but I don’t own my own home, and have no great assets as such.

I have a home and a partner in East Africa and can just simply go there, or go bankrupt!
