CSA behave like robots on the phone
My 3 children are supposed to receive £5 per week maintenance from their self-employed father. Payments stopped 4 months ago. When I called to ask for the arrears to be collected the robot on the phone said that the system didn’t show there were any arrears. When I asked her to contact him to ask for the £87.24 she said she would if she could find some contact details for him at some point in the course of the day.
I suggested the innovative method of using the telephone or writing a letter to him which seemed to throw her into confusion.
Then she said that as there were no arrears shown on the system she could only ask him for a contribution. These robots are not there to help you but to follow a procedure and not answer questions. I would have had more success talking to a child.
