CSA arrears advice needed please
March 15, 2010
After being made redundant in 2004 i heard nothing from the CSA until December 2008, demanding arrears of £1,400. I wrote back immediately requesting a breakdown of where these arrears came from, but i heard nothing.
Then to my surprise i started in the last week getting calls from the CSA about the arrears, they wanted a full payment of £1,400. I work part time and also a student and my income is minimal.
I went through all my payment slips and found that i had missed one payment of £396 but the biggest joke was when they reassessed me in 2002 it took them 4 months to tell me my payments have gone up and also here is four months of arrears also ( diff between new and old payment).
The rest of the arrears came from when i was made redundant on 31st Aug 2004 to my sign on date of 31 st October. They say from the 31st Aug to my sign on date i owe 4 weeks in liu plus holiday pay. I was forced to cough up £300 to stop any further action. They had all my overdraft details and even knew how much overdrawn i was, they new about my credit cards too.
They said they would call next month to make further arrangements for money. Is there anything i can do?
