Baby Blues for Blue’s Lee Ryan

Blue singer Lee Ryan has been heavily criticised for failing to pay child maintenance for his daughter, despite a promise saying that he would support her when she was born.

Lee Ryan, who is representing Britain in the Eurovision song contest this weekend with Blue, has had very little contact with his daughter since she was born. When he found out about the pregnancy he vowed that he would take care of his daughter after a paternity test proved that it was his. At the time he said:

“I’ll definitely be a part of my daughter’s life.”

However Mother, Jessica Keevil, who he met on a night out and Bluebelle’s grandmother, Janet, is furious at how the star has treated her family.

“Lee’s been a nightmare. Jess has had to battle to bring their daughter up all by herself. It’s as if his own child is an inconvenience to him. Every time we ask for help he ignores us.”

Janet claims that Ryan has hardly ever bothered to visit his daughter:

“He has never been there. He has probably seen Bluebelle a handful of times. On one occasion he came round to our house to see her but seemed like he was in a rush. Bluebelle was delighted to see him but Lee was so distant.”

A spokesman for the singer hit back at the comments and claimed:

“Lee has being paying maintenance since he found out Bluebelle was his child. It has not been a regular amount because he has not been earning much money. Lee transferred money into Jessica’s account only last week. He takes his role as father of Bluebelle very seriously.”
