Why should I pay for their mistake?
July 1, 2014
I split up with my partner in 2009 we have a daughter she was 11 at the time she is now 16.
In the beginning I was calling over making cash payments I got a signed paper when I paid.then was making csa payments at 205 per month.
About a year down the line they said they made a mistake I should of paid more.So they contacted me to say they were gonna take 300 a month,i replied saying there is no way I can afford that also its not my fault they made the mistake.
So I cancelled the dd and set a standing order up so 200 a month was going to her.So she turned 16 in October which I thought was my last payment. Now the csa are on my back now with 3000 in arrears.
They want 600 a month off me and have gone to my company and set it up d,o,e the only way out is for me to pack my job in.
Any suggestions would be very welcoming.

If your daughter goes into higher education you have to pay until her 20th birthday. If she starts full time work at 16 or you ex stops claiming child benefit for her you don’t have to pay. Its ridiculous how much they are expecting you to pay back though! Phone and talk with them but I find them very hard to talk to when you need to explain your finances, they are very unsympathetic.
Hi mate,
The CSA do this all the time and it’s called fraud and maladministration, for some reason they want all nrps in arrears. Many nrps who think they are coming to the end of the CSA are hit with £1000s of arrears even though maintenance has always been paid at the rate the CSA have assessed at.
1. Join CSA RIPOFFS on facebook, contact admin who will talk you through what to do.
2. Contact your mp asap, get them involved, explain the behavior of the CSA, name and shame the individual CSA staff involved.
3. Contact your local newspaper and try to get them to start to report on the maladministration and fraud committed by the CSA, again name and shame them.
Together we will bring change and sometime soon the CSA staff committing fraud will be up in court trying to defend their dishonesty .
good luck,
Woody
U pay til she’s 21 if she remains in education never heard of csa payments ending at 16… 18 is prob the cut of limit as they are an independent adult then they can move out ect
The other posters are correct, don’t expect your payments to stop anytime soon unless your daughter starts full-time employment.
You have got a few years to go if she doesn’t start work.
However this does not mean you should be shafted by the CSA, fight them as I stated earlier otherwise those fraudulent arrears may keep growing, some guys have been hit for £10,000 or more.
