Why should I pay CSA and alimony after my ex took all of the proceeds from the house?

April 22, 2013

I was given an order by the CSA to pay and this I did then my ex took me to court for alimony which was granted for a further £150 per month. The CSA then insisted I continue to pay them and not to pay the alimony. I stopped paying the CSA because I was threatened with prison if I did not pay the alimony. Why should I pay both when my ex took all the proceeds for the sale of our home?

Alimony is maintenance for the separated spouse.
Child maintenance (CSA) is maintenance for the child.
    They are separate and exclusive.

To be fair whether the guy is already paying one sum to the mum n another to the child, we live in the 21st century, its about time when a split happens that mum moves on and learns to support herself, we have all had to, he either pays one or the other, I certainly wouldt pay both and I don’t blame him for not wanting to either
