My payments were supposed to start in December but money was taken in November

December 8, 2013

CSA have written to me advising payment amounts and dates…

This was fine and i was happy as it had taken months of me chasing them to get this sorted as no one had taken any action on my account / case for over 6 wks at 1 stage..

My payments were due to start in December however November the 1st came along and low and behold a payment was rec’d for £4??.00 Brilliant i thought!

December the 1st comes along no payment then rec’d a txt advising they were paying me £25.03 i called to ask what was going on as the payment should be for £427.00 ish …..
when i queried this i was advised that as my EX’s employer is paying them early this is where the problem lies and that they have had the £25.00 since the 28th October !!??

Is it fair that they do not pay the full amount and when payments are rec’d early they stillhold onto this instead of paying the money to the claimant! If a bank did this there would be uproar and i feel it is totally unacceptable that the CSA are allowed to get away with this! I cant understand why they havent reviewed my account and reissued my letter advising of dates and payment amounts. i have asked for this to be looked into to be advised that this is not going to happen and that its how it is!!! This is not acceptable and i feel that there should be some form of Ombudsman that investigates and monitors the CSA as they are stealing / holding money back from those who are entitled to it! The Money had been there for over 1 month no contact from them no contact to advise payments will be made early etc etc

They say they only can pay what they get, but I have noticed if the employer does not put the correct payment reference on the payment to the CSA the amount can sit in a CSA holding account for weeks. Call the arrears help line and ask them to see if there is any moneys waiting to be released to you.
