My case is stuck in the CSA’s computer system so I have had no money

July 4, 2012

My daughter has just turned 18. The ex and myself separated when she was about 5 months old. She was then adopted by my now husband when she was 11 years old.

To date the CSA have failed to get any money as my case is technically stuck in their computer system so does not show up. My ex only needs to pay for his daughter until she was adopted so in theory is he is 7 years behind with paying the maintenance arrears. The CSA never answer my complaint letters as they never show up due to my case being technically stuck in the computer system.

Whenever i call they tell me what they are going to do but again this is not done as surprise surprise my case does not show up due to the “technical stuck problem”. I asked my MP at the beginning of the month to get involved and she acknowledged this.

I thought i would have heard something by now but have not! i thouht the CSA had a procedure to answer complaints within a specific time frame. i dont know what else to do except admit defeat and give up.

    Mandy,

If your complaint is still being dealt with by caseworkers, then it may be time to get it passed over to the Complaints Resolution Team, who will then aim to resolve such within 40 working days from the date the complaint is received.

For more info on complaints to the agency, click on the following link http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@benefits/documents/digitalasset/dg_198866.pdf

It may also be worth applying for your Data Protection File, to include note pad which need dating and a complete account breakdown(£10 fee), this will give you a better idea what the agency have being doing on your case.

Keep copies of all correspondence sent to the CSA and post signed for.

    Don’t give up.

Dear Chall if I may, The C.S.A. Complaints Resolution Team do not always adhere to the “forty day ruling” it would do everything possible to stall any complaints. I found this out also with the Independent Case Examiners too. There appears to be a “conflict of interest” between both Agencies and whilst not wanting to dampen everyone’s hopes, it would pay everyone to send faxes to the E.C.H.R.. and to the European Parliament – E.P. stating their complaints. It would not help if they complained to their M.P and M.E.P. as I tried this but everyone needs to send faxes to both E.P. and E.C.H.R.

Obviously they would have to apply through the courts first but it seems this C.S.A. case handling is getting beyond the joke. The C.S.A. don’t care as to receives the money as long as they take their cut. Where does CHILD ABUSE come into this though ? From the parents who don’t want to see their kids ;o the government Agencies that takes money of parents then lets either parent commit suicide for the sake of MONEY ! Would I be wrong in saying that if either the Mother ;or Father committed suicide the child would always blame himself / herself for their parents death . Child abuse starts from those who write the laws, not the ones who are expected to somehow “adhere to them !

Got something to say?
