I have paid more than a thousand pounds more than I should have

May 7, 2013

I split from my partner 15 years ago and have paid ever since. The case closed back in October 2012 but they said i owed money. It turned out that they had forgot to take off the direct payments that i had made which reduce the amount outstanding. I then was sent 3 letters explaining that my ex also owed me money, i asked for this offset against what i owed which would have stopped anymore payments beiing taken from my wages. After over 40 phone calls several letters nurmous online complaints getting my local MP involved im still no nearer to having this done.

Every month £405.81 comes out of my account, i have now paid over a thousand pounds more than i should have done if this offset had been done when i asked. I get no joy what so ever from the CSA only them telling me the same old thing and somone will get back to me which of course they never do, the only thing i managed to get from them was that my request to the Offset team was refused because the Bolton office had failed to fill out 174 form. I doubt that will ever get my money back has my ex is self employed. Thanks CSA

Hi, It is fraud simple. Go to the local police. If the amounts are wrong and are asking to much it is a crime as fraud is a crime in the uk. They will be procescuted. Here are the laws.

In criminal law, fraud is intentional deception made for personal gain or to damage another individual; the related adjective is fraudulent, and verb is defraud. Fraud is a crime and a civil law violation, though the specific criminal law definition varies by legal jurisdiction. Defrauding people or entities of money or valuables is a common purpose of fraud.

    Good luck
