Corrupt CSA tried to cover up their mistake

June 21, 2014

I was the NRPP (Non resident parent’s partner). The CSA calculated a Cat Type A assessment for my then partner. The assessment contained my income & personal details.

Although my ex partner was earning enough to pay the assessed amount, the CSA would not change the assesment to a Cat Type B. They actually stated they did not require my details but refused to change it. I also told them the figures they quoted were incorrect!

They advised him to appeal if he was not happy. With no alternative he appealed. Although the assessment officer agreed (in writing) my details were not required as the NRP had sufficient income to pay the assessment the appeals officer would not liase with the assessment officer nor would she cancel the appeal.

As a result my income details (incorrect details) were disclosed to the PWC. Ironically after this occurred the CSA decided to change the assessment to a Cat Type B. The damage had already been done!

I went through the usual complaints route, ICE , obtained my MP’s permission to go to the Parliamentary Ombudsman, had a long battle with the Onbudsman then went through the appeal and complaint route with them and I have to say a cover up was put in place.

Afterall these departments are all connected, as they are all paid by the same source, this being Works and Pensions. Although there are set rules and regulations they must adhere to, if they do make an error of judgement it is covered up along the line, right up to the Parliamentary Health Service Ombudsman’s office.

Although they did admit that certain aspects were unsatisfactory, I did not even receive an apology for the breach of data which had occurred. To add insult to injury it resulted in my separation from my partner as the PWC demanded she receive not only the CSA payments but whatever she desired. In other words we were open to blackmail and manipulation.

Even worse, if it could be any worse, after we had separated for around 16 months the CSA then contacted me to advise they were placing an order on my house. The certificate of Service issued for the court case for me to give my objections to court was in the wrong name, they had given my surname as my ex partner’s (we were never married).

I informed the CSA of the incorrect name and they assured me they had changed it manually before presenting at court. However this did not happen and of course my objection would not stand. I received confirmation from the court officer that the name had not been changed. So not only did my objection not stand, they placed an order on my house.

My ex partner had already signed a transfer of the title on my house back to me, as he did not actually contribute to the property. The property was purchased from the sale of my previous property and I had added his name to the property with a 1% share. The CSA were of course challenged by my solicitor and they removed the order eventually.

All too little too late as I had planned to sell and relocate to my hometown in Scotland. The recession hit the property market and I was forced to present my property at a lesser price. Not only had they ruined our relationship by the disclosure they then decided it was appropriate to issue a false document to the Courts to obtain an order on my house. In doing so they halted my right to sell my own property and cost me a loss on the property.I decided I could not afford to sell at the reduced price and as a result the CSA, in their wisdom have directed my future.

None of this was in any way any of my business, it was a personal issue between the CSA and my ex partner. However it seems the CSA are a law unto themselves and can pretty much do as they please. They can disclose your personal details without your permission and they can issue false documents to a court of law!

Needless to say the matter will not end there, it’s been a very long and frustrating time but the gloves are off and I will use my contacts in the media to highlight their wrong doing, however long it takes!

Apparently the CSA comes first

My experience with the csa. To cut a long story short, I had a good job, a wonderful partner for 9 years and I was seeing my children regularly buying them things they needed, presents taking them out, supporting them, then 3 years ago and 2 weeks before Christmas they put an attachment of earnings order on me to deduct 40% of my salary.

I struggled to pay my rent, bills went unpaid I lived 100 miles from my children so could no longer pay for fuel to see them regularly. I eventually lost my home and then my job again because I traveled a lot for work could not afford the fuel.

I disputed the amount they claimed I owed in arrears to no avail. I’ve paid then over £14,000 back and they still say I owe them money. I told them they were preventing me from being a parent and unbelievably in their words they said the “csa comes first”.

Now I am homeless without a job, my partner has left me because she couldn’t take the pressure of the hardship the csa has left us in. My ex wife has 2 homes, one she rents out for profit, a good job and foreign holidays every year. She claims for my daughter even though she works and doesn’t live with her mother.

I now have nothing. Well done csa. Someone has to stop the heartache and destruction they do to already sad and stressful situations. They have contributed to ruining my family, how can this be right?

Ex is just trying to hurt us

June 20, 2014

My partner and I broke up after we had our son he is now 3 and ive never received a penny from his father.

He is working 30+ hours a week and also receives the dole???

He is taking me to court and I offered him 2 nights a week with my son he said he cant take him cause he works most nights??

Why should we still be paying if the mother doesn’t have him?

June 20, 2014

My partner is paying csa and his son has been in foster care since 2009.

Can you please tell me why he is still paying csa and what we can do if he shouldnt be?

Also how to get that money back for the last 4 years?

How can the CSA harass an elderly woman like that?

June 19, 2014

CSA have sent bailiffs around to my elderly mothers home and discussed ALL personal details with my Mum.

Ive lived overseas for 10 years and stayed with my Mum for a few weeks last year when trying to sort things out with my ex.

My mother explained all of this. But the guy continued to harass her saying that he had an arrest warrant and if I came to UK I would be arrested and passport taken off me until I paid up.

Im not too bothered about the claims, they don’t even add up. But I am annoyed that these people can just do as they like and stress an 84 year old lady like that.

CSA should be set amounts and means tested

June 19, 2014

Stop punishing NRP’s…At the moment the system of the CSA is that  the more they earn the more they pay.

Kids up and down the country don’t cost more depending on the NRP’s income! The ONLY fair way is to set the amounts and means test it, like the Child Benefit, so if the PWC is a millionaire and the NRP is on average salary, the NRP is exempt. Or the very least pays a min amount. If the NRP earns min wage then there should be a lower ‘set limit’ like £10 a week for 1 child, £15 for 2 etc.

Then all NRP’s on above min wage up until millions they should pay a set amount, in line with the current child benefit amounts. If the Govt set the Child Benefit amount at the amount it’s at now, then it must be for a reason, that reason must be a ‘helping hand’ for parents….I rest my case!

Who agrees?

My lying ex is after more benefits

I cry all the time because we can’t manage

June 18, 2014

Hi I live with my parntner and 2 children one of which is his he works gets 800 a month in pay claims working tax and I claim child tax for my children. CSA are absolutely hammering us 375 pound a month.

Its an attachment if earnings and we just can’t afford to life like this my children are suffering and I just sit and cry all the time because I know we just can’t physically manage.

We have rent tax bills and everything else I get my child tax for my children just the same as she does for hers so why should csa have there paws in that as well?
