How much should I pay my ex for my daughter?

November 27, 2011

Hi, I have recently split up with my partner whom I have a beautiful 5 month old daughter with. Like it is for most couples, it is a very difficult and challenging time for all concerned. Due to work commitments for both myself and my ex partner child care ie, full time nursery is looking like the preferred option by my ex at great expense £600+ per month. Although there is other options available, for example my sister in law and my mother. Also, due to my shift pattern I am often Read more

18 years of maintenance arrears

November 27, 2011

I waited 18 years for maintenance lump sum-went to ICE and PHSO – catelogue of errors by CSA.  Assessments were done and arrears were £67K.  NRP appealed and it was due to go to tribunal.  In the meantime it was discovered that assessments cannot use ASHE method for self employed so they redid the assessments and it came to only £35K so immediately lost half the money.

Then they received a lump sum from NRP and paid me only Read more

Am I the solitary voice of praise for the CSA?

November 26, 2011

I’m currently going through a pretty amicable divorce. We both realised that, really, the whole thing wasn’t working for us both and it was time to move on.

I’m the only earner so I, of course, wanted to pay for my children. I started paying way too much – about a third of my wages. When I realised that this was just unsustainable, I explained. This was the only real hiccup that our divorce has had!

So, I volunteered to go to the CSA and get a judgement. I’d checked out the website calculator and worked out what I thought would be the calculation. It actually came out a few pounds lower than expected. I was elated because the judgement had worked in my favour. Now I could go back to her and use this as a basis for the amount I had to pay.

Now, I can hear the parents on here with fulltime care saying that that’s the CSA not working. No. You’re wrong. I’m now able to Read more

Sperm donor chased by the CSA

November 26, 2011

About 2 years ago I put a profile on a sperm donation site. I was 38 years old and had resigned to the fact that I would never have children out of a normal relationship. I thought at least this way my genes would live on, even if I did not know the child and I may be able to help someone in need. A 35 year old girl got in touch, who seemed nice claiming that she wanted a child but not a relationship.

After a few attempts she became pregnant and had a baby boy on 07/02/2011. She claimed that my life would not be affected by this but I could have a relationship with the boy (Wade). She has now gone back on her word and made a claim against me through the CSA.

With debts and bills this is crippling me and it looks like I may have to move abroad to get out of this, before I was happy with a good job, now my life is a mess.

CSA collecting payments but not giving them to me

November 25, 2011

I have a payment schedule dated July 2011 to which my ex is making payments. Unfortunately, the CSA have been collecting these payments but not passing them on to me. I have contacted them several times to find out why they are not being passed Read more

Ex is committing benefit fraud

November 25, 2011

I am having some extreme problems with the CSA – my ex is committing benefit fraud so I have to pay literally thousands of pounds in arrears that don’t exist, my MP (Rosie Winterton), the Child Benefit Office, the Child Support Agency and the Benefit Fraud Hotline all know about it and have done since almost day one but are doing nothing to help me.

I have worked all my life, I served in the Army for ten years and have been working in construction management since getting out.  This has been going on now since March this year, I have been forced into debt and I don’t know how much longer I can go on.  If you can’t help me do you know anyone that can?

Can I report my own son to the CSA?

November 24, 2011

I am writing to see if their is anything i can do as a grandparent,to get my son to face his responsibilities.

I have been visiting my grandaughter as her mother said she wanted her to know her family. My son has made no attempt to see his daughter or make any effort financially. When my grandaughter was born, my son was there for her, but he split from her mother, and is now with another partner.

My son has not seen his daughter for well over a year, and he is now saying that she is not his daughter, based on what his new partner and her cousin have been telling him. I recently spoke to my son, and asked him to do a DNA test to prove to everybody that she is his daughter, or not, he refused saying to me he does not want anything to do with it. I advised my grandaughters mother to contact the CSA, and get this situation sorted out.

She has informed me that she has done so, and is awaiting forms. To be honest i dont actually beleive her, as their has been a lot of problems going back and forth from my son, his partner and her cousin, all towards my grandaughters mother.

I would like to know if i can report him to the CSA, and if he still claims he has no daughter, i would like help in getting a DNA test done. This situation is not fair on my grandaughter, and to be honest i am no longer willing to be the one in the middle, thank you.

CSA staff are untrained and make countless mistakes

November 24, 2011

I can not believe what I have just read regarding the CSA and their UNTRAINED staff! My case has been going on since 1999 and still not concluded! My children have grown up now and left home, I’m even a proud Grandmother! Its taken 4 Tribunals, 3 of which saw no change to my ex’s circumstances even though he has two thriving businesses and was discovered to earn in excess of £50,000 p/a.

He has managed to convince the CSA that he only earnt £25.25 p/week and they never checked The latest tribunal heard in July this year (2011) found in my favour and he now has to pay considerably more, but only for the last year that the children were qualified for maintence. 6 months down the line I am still waiting for some kind of payment. They write to you expecting you to provide private and sensitive information regarding the NRP and tell you that they are going to execute thier extensive powers and list them, they also tell you in writting that Read more

CSA got involved before court order was a year and a day old

November 23, 2011

On 3rd august 1998 my husband’s ex wife contacted the csa. Only on the 4th august 1998 she signed with my husband a court order regarding maintenance payments. The same court order was stamped at court on 12th august 1998 but the csa still got involved and made our lives hell until 2001 when his ex wife pulled away from them. In the said court order my husband agreed to pay monies until the children reached 17 yrs or ceased full time secondary education which ever came the later. So last october 2010 he stopped paying for one child Read more

CSA mistakes are costing me

November 23, 2011

Me and my ex split in 2003. My son was two years old and I started paying csa of forty pound a week.

I met my new partner in 2007 and i informed the csa that we was having a child and was told when the child was born to get in contact so they could adjust my payments. I did after two days of my son being born and i was told my payments would be adjusted.

A year later i was still paying the same amount; when i contacted them they said the case worker was no longer employed by them so my case had bean left for a year with no one doing anything so i left it because i was basicly told there was nothing i could do.

In 2009 i was made redundant.

I have now started a new job in june of 2011. I informed the csa about this they said they neaded five wage slips, which i sent them. I waited a couple of weeks but heard nothing so i rang them. I was told they would get a case worker to ring me back. I waited but nothing, so i rang them again and i got the same reply because it has took them so long to sort out i now owe a thousand pound back pay, which i have to pay.

I have three dependants, yes i agree i should pay for my ten year old i helped bring him in to this world but it feels like i am being penalised for their mistakes.
