CSA wants to take more money than I can afford

August 12, 2011

I am unemployed at the present with not too much hope of securing work in the near future.

I have a 12 year old daughter living with her mother in Scotland. I have not seen or had any contact with her since she was two. Her mother decided that it would be best for me not to.

So, after 10 years, I finally receive a letter stating that £6.80 will be deducted from my JSA for CSA!

This will put me under the legal amount of money “the law says you need to live on”. Add to this the Human Rights aspect; my daughter lives 300+ miles away and I cannot have access. I cannot afford to go to Scotland and her mother will not drive her down here (Skelmersdale).

I also believe that her mother is self employed working from home. furthermore, on checking the electoral role, there seems to be a man and a girl both on the voting register at the same address from 2009. I believe this to be her new partner.

I will of course be appealing this decision and if neccessary go to court to have this squashed!

I am a single Father myself and I know how difficult it is to manage financially but surely somebody, somewhere should have some common sense in this Government.

What do you think?
