CSA wants me to keep paying even when debt cleared

March 11, 2011

I have been paying the CSA £130 for 6 months now due to the ex saying i never paid for my kids, which i have been.

80 ponud was arrears, which where due to stop this week, but because they blundered in paying ex to much its extended to july??? and to top it all my payments to her should be reduced from 47 a week to 23 due to shared care, but they wont reduce straight away as un fair to her to have money reduced instantly so it will be reudced by 5 pound a year untill down to right amount meaning by then my kids will be 19 and 17 ??

How’s that right ???? They say by law they can’t reduce straight away??????? Can any one help???

This is just typical CSA. They just take, take, take!
Do you have evidence that you were paying her. Bank statements?

On the evidence of what you just said “it will be reudced by 5 pound a year” then any new assessment made by the CSA should only be phased in increasing by £5 per year.

And they paid her the wrong amount! And, they didn’t take into account the shared care. No, your changes assessment must be back-dated and payments should stop until the over payments have balanced out.

Write back (don’t phone), recorded delivery, that you do not accept their incorrect assessment and that the correct assessment must come into effect immediately, and the over payments already made, must be deducted. And, that should they fail to confirm this within fourteen days you will take the matter further.

I’m going to repost your entry on Against the Csa on Facebook. People will NOT believe the above comments from the CSA.

Can you come join us on Facebook? CsaHell on Facebook is down at the moment so for the moment we are discussing on Against the Csa on Facebook, or if you need help with contact you can go to Separated Dads or Dads with Kids, both on Facebook.

    Response:

that actually sounds bollocks to me – i recently had a review as i moved in with my gf with her 2 kids. I had payments reduced by £80 a month and this was done over a 3 month period. I was also owed money as the CSA took so long to sort it out. The upshot was i had 3 months of reduced payments to claw back what i was owed then payments returned to normal at month 4.
