Child benefits stopped for daughter, will this lower my CSA payments?

October 3, 2012

I have been paying maintenace money for my 2 daughters for the past 12 years or so.

The payments were set by the CSA at the start using the original ‘old style’ formula and the last time i was re-assessed was about 5 years ago.

My eldest daughter, who is 18, has now left full time education and my ex informed me that child benefit payments for her stopped at the begining of September 2012.

Does anybody know how this is likely to affect my future payments?

I cant find a calculator online for the original formula and dont fancy going through another re-assessment as this type of thing just causes stress between myself and my current partner.

Does anybody know if my payments are likely to be reduced enough to make this worthwhile? bearing in mind that my wages have risen since i was last assessed.

I feel tempted to just keep paying the same amount to avoid any potential hassle.

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks
