Can they take my savings and income into account for my partner?

November 24, 2013

My relationship with my lodger recently changed, l am retired on ill health and get a works pension, but not the state one as too young. My lodger (who was on the old rules) youngest child now 13, is now my partner and l am worried that the CSA will calculate my money into any payments he has to make now we are a partnership, can they take my income, savings or property into account?

i have a rented property but also a very large mortgage, one does not cancel the other out. what would this mean when calculating his payments. This is causing me so much upset, l am thinking of just going back to lodger and companion, if we don’t sleep together does this make a different, he is not currently paying half my bills.
