The ex claims that he can’t afford to pay anything

April 22, 2014

My ex partner is not paying any money at all towards the upkeep of his 6 yr old daughter.

He isn’t working, gets £1,000 a month in benefits and lives in a house worth £200,000 and claims he can’t afford to pay me a thing towards his daughter’s upkeep.

Please can you advise me?

Do you know for definite he is in receipt of £1000 per month in benefits if so you should be entitled to £5 per week? How do you know the value of the property & surely if he owned the property he would not receive benefits? Maybe he is being supported by his current partner therefore you cannot ask them to provide for your child! Does your ex have contact & take your daughter out etc or have you stopped access because you haven’t received money? If so maybe it’s his current partner who provides for days out & buys Xmas presents etc?! Think about your daughter’s emotions & not the money

    Dear Tazaroo76
At what particular point in my legitimate question to the CSA did I ever mention that my ex partner now had a current partner?? Never assume anything, read things correctly to ascertain the correct facts to a situation and please don’t comment unless it’s worth hearing about.
