Problems with late payments of my maintenance
July 10, 2010
For the third time this year I am finding myself constantly having to make phone calls to CSA regarding the late payments of my maintenance. There is a deduction of earnings order in place therefore I should have no problems really but again in june i have not received my payment. Apparently the employer is late paying and CSA haven’t received this cheque. I will write another complaint online and hopefully I will eventually receive this money. In the meanwhile all the stress and worry it causes is beyond a joke, I have three children, mortgage and bills to pay. This is not acceptable and what do I hear time and time again, you have to wait the timescale for the case worker to ring the employer etc.
Very very frustrated and disheartened with the CSA.

Got something to say?

I hear you. I am going through the same situation of not know when I am going to be paid. I have written complaints and still waiting for a response. The CSA is a joke and employers should be immediately fined when they pay late
I’m sorry, but you guys are really believing the CSA when they say the employer hasn’t paid?
I think you need to look a bit deeper than this as I know, from my experiences, that when an employer pays the CSA does not necessarily pay the PWC straight away. I’ve heard from the PWC that the CSA claimed the employer hadn’t paid, but I know for a fact they had.
Myself and my partner both have children to previous relationships and therefore are in a situation where we pay and recieve payments from the csa. This allows us to see how it works from both ends of the spectrum, and I can definatley say that they (csa) are probably the worst ran organization I can think of. I have had issues where payments I have made have gone missing, I clarified with them that we had had another child and a deduction in payment should be scheduled, this took them 3 month and due to what they termed a issue with their calculations I recieved a bill for £765. On the flip side my expartner gets told that my employer has failed to pay, even though theyve told me different. With regards to recieving payment, we have been told every excuse under the sun when it is late, even down to they have the wrong bank details for us and when we offered to give them the details they declined and the money appeared.
Ignore everything the csa call centre says and contact the comlaints department, it takes more time but they do seem to know what they are talking about and dont tell lies to get you off the phone!!!
PS beware at the end of the financial year…..thats when they have created any number of problems and acted insanely flippently towards any sort of call we make to them.
As I have wrote this my mrs has just came in and said that the csa money hasnt gone in and shes about to ring. Fantastic.
Same probs here! My ex chose to give false employer details at the outset so I opted to have deductions from earnings put in place. Initially (early 2011) payments were made during the period allowed (to be recieved by the 21st of the month) even though she gets paid the last working day of the previous month!) but recently it’s been a day or so before the cut off. 23rd Jan 2012 and I’ve still not heard (or had) a bean. How hard can it be for CSA to chase this than have me chase them to chase it each and every month. It should be CSA getting fined for not chasing it aswell as the employer who are are legally bound to pay or be prosecuted! Any thoughts?
The agency can sit on payments sometimes. This could happen if an employer sent in bulk payment for multiple cases and/or an employer didn’t completed DEO payment schedules correctly OR they have been known to blame the computer for not allocating it to the PWC.
An employer should send the money to the CSA as soon as possible after the deduction has been made and no later than the 19th of the month following the month in which the deduction was taken. After it has cleared, it should get passed onto the PWC, which can take around a week.
