Perhaps this can help to calculate amounts owed

June 27, 2014

I wanted to work out what MONTHLY figure I could be paying under new CSA3 rules.

Below is only useful if you are earning below £800 per week, but lets face it, the vast majority of us are.

I think that the vast majority of us will also find our payments going up since they will sneakily take new calculations from GROSS instead of NETT.

I have made it as simple as I can, hope someone else benefits from this.

0.09905 * X * (7-Y)

Where X = WEEKLY GROSS salary (Same as they want it on the CSA website).

Y = CSA figure(Band you are in) for Number of overnight stays with NRP.

Example:
Say you are earning £400 per week.
You have kids 2 to 3 nights per week (Band 2).

0.09905 * 400 * (7 – 2) = £198.10 per MONTH.

Comments

  • Bill says:

    1 QC = 12%, 2QCs = 16%, 3QCs or more 19%.

    0.12*400*5/7 = £34 per week.

    34 * 52 = 1768 per year divided by 12 = £147.33 per month.

Alternatively use the calculator on the Child Maintenance web site.
