I’m now owed £2,900 but it’s just floating around in the system

June 19, 2013

My husband and I separated 4 yrs ago, we had an arrangement in place for a specific amount each week for the 3 children until his gf decided he should go through the C.S.A……this is when all the nightmare started! Is it just me or does everyone have the feeling that everyone you speak to from the c.s.a. doesn’t really give a damn!?

Their father decided to give up his job in 2011 when he found out how much he would have to pay a week, then the massive £2.50 per fortnight between them stopped in may 2012, I telephoned the c.s.a and they said a change of circumstances had occurred and i would need to wait 90 days for calculations to be complete. Anyway to cut a long story short its been 14 mnths , they Haven’t kept to their time scales, they haven’t updated vital payment schedules, they haven’t once called me back as promised , everything one person tells you is wrong, they always fob you off with more time scales , and the case worker is always on lunch or a break or off sick so no one can tell you any correct updates, I’m at a loss as to how they can keep letting people down, and now they have finally managed to get a payment 1 year later and have lost it in their system :-O ……..I don’t want to hear about time scales, and procedures, and policies any more, I’m now owed 2,900 in arrears, but that money floating about in their system somewhere isn’t buying bread and butter!

@ Jane – the CSA are absolutely useless and will only make the effort with simple cases that involve taking money from already paying NRPs who are on PAYE.

The CSA are only interested in getting their bonus each year and will do what it takes to get it i.e. they will lie, fabricate information, discard information or completely ignore information….

I would suggest you try your local MP, they seem to be the only people the CSA listen to (for now)… good luck with your case..

    Sound advice Sally.

Agreed Sally, I have already obtained the name of my local MP, and also the address, I cannot even have the ICE (Independent Case Examiner) look into the complaint until the C.S.A have resolved any outstanding issues! …….
Thank you for your advice Sally.

    @ John.
I agree John, it seems to me that they are working to time scales, but never actually meeting those time scales, the simplest of things seems to take months to sort out!
