How can I owe CSA for the period paperwork was ‘lost’?

I’ve been paying the Criminal Spongers Association since 2000 & not had too many problems until about a year ago.

I have 2 kids to my ex & when my now 19 yr old left school, my assessment went to £000. My ex asked for a reassessment, however, the numbskulls apparently “lost” the paperwork & found it about a year later!!!!

As a result, I am now over £2000 in debt to them and they maintain I have no way of contesting this!! surely the fact they “lost” the paperwork means the debt is their fault & not mine so therefore< I shouldn't have to pay the debt??
