Harrassment from CSA

March 20, 2012

I have been out of work and on job seekers allowance but still paying child support through deductions from my job seekers allowance.I then went back to work and the first thing i did was contact the csa and tell them i was back at work.I then started making payments every month by phone and card payments without any problems.

The csa requested my payslips and after i provided them they increased my monthly payments (not my fault as they had mis-calculated).Before i could even start on the new payments i started getting calls that i had to set-up a standing order which i refused as i was still making my payments without fail by card and over the phone every month. The csa then told me i DID NOT HAVE ANY OPTION BESIDES A STANDING ORDER.

I have used the csa before i lost my last job and i have always made payments by card and over the phone with no issues but now i feel the csa is harrasing me by calling me when i am working and even though i dont owe any money to the csa i feel harrassed.

Please help.

U think that’s harrassment? They haven’t even got started. I have a long running and on going battle wiv csa. The latest instalment is the enforcement of maintenance which I have paid thru a deductions of earnings order. Its been stopped out of my wages. They are a shambles. Something needs to be done about the bullying and harrassment that nrp’s suffer at the hands of the csa and visious, bitter ex partners!

After yesterdays argument with the csa about the standing order, they started demanding over a £1000 pounds in arrears i do not even know about.I challenged them to take me to court as i am currently up to date with my monthly payments.I have even humbled myself and set up a standing order but then after a few hours i get anothe csa call saying i dont owe over a £1000 pounds but about £250 in arrears. This is crazy ,the csa seem very confused.Something needs to be done about this dis-organised organisation.they seem to dream up unknown arrears on the nrp’s. you wonder if they use a lucky dip system to come up with their figures.how far is this going to go and how many more lives are to be destroyed by these blood sucking idiots.Think of all the lives they have destroyed .F—–g pr–s.

The previous response from graydoman is sadly 100% correct. I hope Im wrong but the CSA are just “warming up” with your case, you being their latest target. Prepare yourself for lots of grief, stress and financial hardship.

    Hi,

The agencies preferred methods of payment are DEO straight from wages or standing order.

It may be a good idea to set up a bank account, just for the purpose of paying by standing order to the CSA, that you can drip feed with just enough money to cover such each month.

I had the same but told i had to to it DD. when i suggested a SO i was told they don’t do that and if i didn’t do a DD they would do a DEO. They left me with no choice and even admitted i had never missed a payment and i always payed before time. because it took them 5 months to sort out my claim as i had started a new job it got me in arrears even though i was paying a large sum each month. You can’t fight them as they are a law unto themselves

Unfortunately it does seem that there is a lucky dip system in place for arrears. I was out of work for nearly 4 years. They say I didn’t inform them and so have charged me over £100 per week for the whole of that time. They did not inform me that the debt was building and did not ask me for any money. My bill is now at nearly £22000 and they have a liability order on me which they did not tell me about either!. This debt is from 17 years ago! My daughter is now 22 and has a daughter of her own. I now pay 40% of my wages (which is £120) per week and I have baillif chasing me for more cos they say I’m not payin debt quick enuff. Harrasment! No wonder there are people commiting suicide! They ruin lives and couldn’t care less!

This is absolutely disgusting the way they are treating people and I agree they are only warming up.

They put a DEO on my partner’s salary and once we got a copy of his file the reason it was put in place was because he did not answer his phone so they said he was non complaint!!! We had been in touch with them for months before that as he got hit with a bill for £39,000!!

Graydoman like you he was on benefits for years but they kept high assessments in place. We are fighting to get these reduced.

  • Brett says:

Above comments are spot on. I’d never missed a payment and fully complied with any corres I’d receive from the CSA, when I receive a phone call saying I owed over £11,000 in back payment. Apparantly I’d been reassessed six months previously and arrears were back dated three and a half years. I was already paying a very reasonable sum of money every month. CSA threatened me with baliffs and a Liability Order.I then had a 40% DOE put on me.

The CSA are scamming us all, for their gold plated credit cards, for stays in plush hotels, flowers for the office, theatre tickets.etc. They are filling the pot up for their luxuries, and we are paying for it!

People do something about it…stop taking this sh*t and stand up! A group legal challenge , connect with others in your area and make a hard case to get your MP to do something.
